IR only covers 53% of the solar spectrum so those numbers may sound reeeaally good, but let us not overlook the role visible light plays in the heat (gain) equation. :nope

:DD

the main feature of spectrally selective films is that it attempts to provide the maximum amount of VL whilst cutting out the 'unnessary' elements that also causes heat... the creation of a 'Perfect Window' :lol

isnt this thread about Heat Guns? :lol:DD

:lol just  came here to see what was up with the topic and end up thinking we should be trying the torch method! :)

That's moreless what I was thinking, go and get the oxy-acetylene tanks with the heating tip on it and make sure the acetylene valve is on :lol

I believe it was more about a comparison question on using a radiant heat device (found in the fabric/garment industry) or lamps vs. heat gun.

Who cares where or what is discussed, it's all a learning experience and all threads go awry... :rollin

I wouldn't entertain the radiant device idea simply because there exists very little air flow with them as opposed to heat guns. :woowoo
