  2.    As I stated in my first post I would give more time to work with Pro Series. Again only my opinion. shortly after my first visit they came back with updated film. I worked a lot of diferrent solutions(gels, two bottle and one bottle) All three methods worked with less alcohol used then recommended. Distilled or filtered water preferred. best success with distilled. For those who care and install it. I install in Florida so maybe different than you. This is only baseline, so adjust to your feel of install.

As another member said "60 inch roll is here." They had it at 2014 IWFA in Baltimore and I am sure it will be at SEMA this year.

I still say it is one of the clearer films out right now. The low friction surface energy that repels stains and stractches are excellent. Low profile crosscut (visiable leading edge) and lastly ease of install and learning curve. Later than I wanted but it is here and a real competitor in the market.

Any installer who has used more than one film knows they all respond diferrently to solutions, squeeges and techniques. Gone are the days of PVC films. Most of us are at the top of our local market and care about the industry.

    Just one installers thought!!!!

  3. Now the bad......when I pulled the film from the liner the glue had a strong solvent Odor to it.

Im waiting to get a bulk piece to cut and install to make a real evaluation. It wouldnt hurt for it to be just as good as what else is out.

It is only my opinion but 3m made sure I got it first for my opinion. They are changing certification to a star system. Most installers are going to start at 2 star . I am 4 star now meaning full fenders and hood. If you are already certified they are going to come to you and watch you install and decide then.

NO WAY! A star system! 3M want to sell boxes of film as many as they can. Some ones having you on.

The was from 3m corporate aftercar care regional manager. They are updating their cert installers and dropping old online data base.

  4. Your right about the marketing part. I like them for that b/c I can price a little higher for better profits. After 20 years I don't want to race to zero b/c some fly by nite hack wants a price war. We have all seen it.

As for the glue. I live in Florida where the uv index is always high and it's hot. This progresses the aging process of glue. Even the best brands. All glue has solvent in it, they use it to thin glue out.

In vehicle wraps we use solvent printers and they have to out gas or solvent ruins print. I was just courious about it. It smells like cheap packing tape.

Over all it was good, I was doing a Benz gl350 hood with it. My pattern had a relieve cut on it and my rep said it won't need it b/c it's that good. The glue stressed after trying to get the front corner to tact. He was trying to prove a point and was wrong. No biggie

  6. Your so right! its all a little late.... Its ok to 'miss the boat' but 3M in there wisdom didn't even think they had to turn up.

To produce a new film that the markets going to like it will have to be exceptional.

Do you know are these sample pieces of what we could have or are they in full production?

We were some of the first to see it in Florida. It was shipped from 3m corp but not at distributor yet. End of week. It is 7 year warranty like others on market.

  7. My 3M reps came in today to show me their new ppf. My overall impression is so/so. Top coat is excellent. It is clearer and no more orange peel. Film is not as rigid as before. The top coat healing clarity was the best part.

Now the bad......when I pulled the film from the liner the glue had a strong solvent Odor to it. Glue stressed easier than I like on contours. Lastly and alarming to me was after I did an initial tack and squeegee out and came back to area. I put my hand on the film and pushed. THE ENTIRE AREA FLOATED AROUND like an edge that gets water on it and gets loose. It took a while to tack.

I am 3m certified and use a lot of films (venture, xpel, Suntek, new nano fusion and solar gard pro. It seems to little too late. Everyone came out with new lines and new product this year.

I may change my mind but will need to play with more. Anyone else try it yet....
