  1. The 2015 GTI has front quarter windows. They are nearly impossible to access. The doors are looser on the sides than the previous models, but the gaskets are wider as well, so more film to have to tuck to the back. Back window has less curve, but the trim on the inside seems to be tighter. Also, there is less room on the top near the spoiler, and the spoiler comes down onto the rear window on the sides, leaving less room on the sides. All in all its not too bad, except for the front quarters. Who's stupid idea was that ? And how is the customer supposed to even clean it ? LOL

  2. I have been noticing this on a lot of lexus cars , not just the IS-250. And it does not seem to matter what film, or how aggressive it is. I have been letting people know on R/R that it is a high likely hood of there being damage .

  3. Sputtered films tend to create more problems than standard metallized films. We have sputtered bronze 20% on our storefront, and I wish I had a dollar for every time somone dropped a call in the store.

    Hi Jayz81,

    Bingo.

The sputtered films are the culprits - the Ni Chrome Films in particular.

Standard vapor deposited aluminum films (typcial dyed-metal hybrids) are no factor. We have been selling the Global CHP for more than a decade without a single report of signal issues. If you are unsure what metals are in your film or which deposition method was used, check with your manufacturer.

For some reason, the myth that all metal films block signals still persists. Having metal in the film provides a dramatic increase in solar performance. It is a shame that many dealers rule it out over unfounded concerns.

The concern in and of itself was created by manufacturers who had a agenda to sell ceramic and spectrally selective window film in the first place. Look at it this way, for the longest time (said manufacturers name here ) told us all how great performing their metal film was . THen all of a sudden they say, ohh stop using it , we have a new product that wont cause interference, and has similar heat rejection , but by the way , it cost X amount more than the present metallic film . And they have done a great job with it right down to the consumer, as more and more people tell me they can not get metallized film on their car.

So then something like Global HP film should be ok since it's a standard metal film?

    Global HP

My other choice is a Formula One Pinnacle film with ceramic. Of course, it's about double the cost.

Go with the Global HP or the LLumar ATR series. You wont be disappointed in either product.

  4. I burnt a panel on the 2 door maxima when it first came out . Lesson learned . You are right, and its like it just disintegrates right before your eyes. That panel cost me 8 bills, cause it had only been out like 3 weeks. The car was so new , the customer had to wait like a month to get his panel. Now, if I ever have a prob, the panels coming off.

I wanna see one of those! I wonder why they would call it the 4DSC (4 door sports car) if it comes with 2 doors... :dunno

Never burned a panel on a Rogue, and Ive done a plethera of them. The only door I occasionally have a finger on is the back doors. I recommend not pulling them back, as you will almost certainly have to remove the panel to get it back on. There is a hook on the panel that will slide out when you pull it back, but wont go back in when you try to pop it back...so just take it off completely.

LOL. Sorry, it was a 2 door ALTIMA . Thanks for the correction . Too many cars, and now every model is running together. Like the ford charger , or the chevy focus. LMAO. Those panels will really melt before your eyes though.
