Honestly I do not know how Mitsubishi is still in the automotive business...except for Lancer being popular and a few Outlander's I do not see how they stay around.
Agreed..
Although... My first car up today is a 2015 Mitsubishi Challenger. And my last is a 2015 Mitsubishi Triton (Pick up)
Go figure...

Funny you just did a new Mirage, I was just ready the worst cars to purchase yesterday and the Mirage was in it.
Hey Dynamic,
Lets just say... It's the kind of car you would buy an "ex" wife.
-
-
That's some nice looking work there Dynamic...
There are a few cars there that I wouldn't mind driving around on a weekend.
Xtra cab Tundra looks the gear.

Sorry, I forgot people take everything so serious around here. Yes, I put 5% on the windscreen, and no, I'm not breaking any law. Unless you are familiar with Norway and Norwegian law, you should know that there is no way it can come back to me with any claims etc. at all in any way. Anyway, I don't know if he's a criminal, it's just something I said since he drives a black fat BMW, 5% all round, license plates that get black with the push of a button, and sirens/blue flashers integrated in the car. I asked him what he does for a living, he just said he does "Illicit work".
Hey BrightB,
I guess I like my industry, hence I take it seriously.
What you did by installing 5% on a windscreen is just plain stupid. I do not care how you look at it.
It is dangerous. And you have put the safety of someone and others at risk and you will hopefully be held responsible if it is to cause an issue.
I am sure you think it is all a game. But playing with the safety and lives of other human beings is no joke, and you will find that there is no where to run if and when the shit goes down and you are at fault.
Do you seriously think that is a 100k car is totalled and it is because someone tint is too dark that they won't point the finger at you?
If the Norwegian law allows you to tint a windscreen at 5% then it is the dumbest country in the world. I really don't think it is, so I would be confident in thinking that you have broken the law and I hope you wake up before you do something you badly regret.
If I am not mistaken you are the guy who thinks his local professionals are a rip off and you being a third of the price is the best thing since slided bread?
You are just a newbie who tints any car cheap in any darkness and you should give yourself an uppercut.
I guess we can't all be experts in the first year?

Just tinted a BMW E60 545i with EWF 5% all the way, including the windscreen... crazy as hell, since I'm from Norway where it gets pitchblack at 4pm during the winter.... guy must have been a criminal or something too, had sirens and integrated blue flashers in his grille, and electric curtains that would go in front of his plates with the push of a button. Anyways, heres the album

Hey BrightB,
Are you say'n that you put 5% on the windscreen?
If so, it is a pretty average thing to do and it may come back to bite you.
It is no different to breaking any law. It is you that is deciding to do it, and you can in no way say that the customer is a crim... If so, You are the criminal here.

Hey Showus..
I can't see how this is any fault of Shawn or SolarFX...
If the buyer needs to be aware of anything, it is to understand what the warranty does and doesn't cover.
If the warranty says that it doesn't cover fading, then it doesn't cover fading... End of story.
I can see that SolarFX (Like anyone in the market place) needs an economically priced entry level film to offer installers out there that just want cheapest price.
It's funny how the old saying seems to be a rule that shows true generation after generation... "You pay for what you get."
If something is over priced, it will eventually come down... If something is underpriced, it will always go up in price. There will always be a balance in the end, and a choice to make.
My choice is always use the best I can.. Whilst still representing value for money.
If you are not happy with what you are using, vote with your feet.
Hope all ends well.

tough day today.. very windy... very dusty.. very hot on this coal mine site today.
2 x liebherr 190 tonne drill rigs. tinted in ceramic film for high heat rejection without compromising the sensitive gps location equipment. these machines cost 1k per hour to run. all shut down to stick on some tints. my bill wasn't cheap.

When you do come Down Under.. You will be welcomed with opened arms. You will have a free bed to rest your head in every state of our country.
You are 1 of the lads, and the way you conduct yourself and the quality of the products you endorse give testament to you and your operation.
GTS...
I was so moved by this post, that Lois and I actually looked at the flight schedules for the first time. Quantas goes from LAX to SYD in just 15 hours. And one day, when you and Owl come to visit I will reciprocate. What a grand time that will be - absolutely a high point in my career in this industry. Australia represents the most severe environmental conditions that exist in the habitable world for window film longevity.
Regards,
Howard
Hey Howard,
Sounds great. I am holding a training day at Surfers Paradise (Gold Coast) on Monday the 13th of October. It should be a fantastic weekend (And some training thrown in also). There will be a few of the guys here on TintDude there, as well as the Owl. All are welcome, but I would say without question that if you were able to make it, you would very much be our special guest. And treated as such.
Some of the things we are working on may be of interest to you.
I understand that you are very busy, but the invite is there if you are free to accept.
Warmest regards.
-
Edit post.. I kind of said what Howard said... However as usual.. He said it far better than I...
No need for my post now
Hi GTS,
I happen to have read your first version (it was great !)
Sincere thanks for the support and kind words. If anyone knows about film failure, it is you guys down under. You live in the harshest inhabited climate zone on the planet for window film. It's going to fail where you are before it fails anywhere else.
I really have to get down there for a visit with you and the Owl. What a great time that will be.
Regards,
Howard
Wow above and beyond!
Hi jh812,
Thanks for the kind works & support.
That's how we do it at EWF. We are not perfect by any means, but we genuinely care, we are extremely careful in doing our jobs and we are dedicated to taking care of you guys to the best of our ability and capability every single order, every single day, year after year since 1982.

Hey Howard,
Chill out mate..
Anyone that has ever worked with this product knows in their heart of hearts that the ShadeKing has made an error.
When you do come Down Under.. You will be welcomed with opened arms. You will have a free bed to rest your head in every state of our country.
You are 1 of the lads, and the way you conduct yourself and the quality of the products you endorse give testament to you and your operation.
When you are ready to visit down under, myself and the Owl will be sure to see that you are treated in the same way you treat others.
With total respect, humility and dignity.
You have nothing to prove here, but the very fact that you still try so hard to offer such an outstanding service and respect to a person you know to be wrong is just testament to the man you are. You care of the legacy that you leave behind and hence why the Gold standard classic black that you personally specified has such a close bond to you. I just hope that the ShadeKing can understand that he is not just degrading a quality product, but also the legacy of one of the greatest individuals to ever put his focus into this great industry.
Everything happens for a reason, and I think you will begin to see people who believe in you come out and support you and your high standard.
As far as I am concerned, you have an open pass into Aus, and I can't wait for you to get the VIP treatment that you show others day in and day out.
-
Interesting Shade King... If you were ordering such why would you post different on here 2 years ago ?? Everyone makes mistakes... and I can see getting CB and TB turned around in your head ...
Would like to see more proof that it is what you say it is tho....
Quite simple, as I has issues with other rear screens recently, I pulled the film off my car to have a closer inspection. Had no complaints otherwise.
The film in all of the images is NOT class black. Simple as that.
SK, you are walking down a path that you don't want to go down. Yes.. This is a friendly forum that us tinters can discuss different topics in regard to all aspects of tinting, but you are also publicly denouncing a product, and I am 100% confident that you do not have the proof to back up. Hence you are opening yourself to legal action. (Not from me) But I would imagine that Howard and the factories that produce his products and invest millions in research and development and testing each year would be very, very upset to have a false claim made about a specific film.
Your call where you take it from here. Good luck.
-
Thats awesome. I wish anyone continued success with anyone who uses this film. I have not had such fortune. Moving on, simple as that.
You will be found out ShadeKing. I would highly recommend you double check that you have your facts right.
What goes around comes around.
-
I sure hope you man up and admit to being wrong when the proof is really shown.Heres a gift for you fanboys, it was included with the bad EWF film sent back UPS return to Howard.
If you wish to continue to deny the proof thats your choice. And keep using it thats your choice as well.
In closing, this film was a great value and as an economy line worked well until the failure(s).
Sincere thanks for all the support (from all over the world). Any long term user of CB would take one look at that pic and know that it's not CB or any of the color stable Global/Garware products in the EWF line. A complete loss of color after 2 years? Fuhgetaboutit (as we used to say in Brooklyn).
It's a shame that a paperwork/record keeping snafu took on a life of it's own. For the record, I still have not received a return phone call, a returned email and as of yesterday there is still no sample on the way to us for evaluation.
SK - please, please do not put a piece of that faded film on display in your shop area and label it Classic Black. Call me as soon as you can so we can get this all worked out.
Thanks,
Howard
Its not color loss, its distorted!!!! You will see it for yourself when you get the pieces back.
Not sure what your agenda is SK, but I personally hope Howard takes further action against you.
Let's just be clear.. Classic Black is NOT, true black.. And the film that is known to become distorted within 2 years is auto films from JWF. I have dozens of rear screens sitting in my workshop that I have personally had to remove, with warranty (Including roll numbers). And you don't?
-
In the defense of the ShadeKing.. It could still actually be a misunderstanding.. I think that SK has just mistaken his films.. Either way.. I was always 100% sure that it wasn't the Classic Black from the outset. Just need the Shade King to man up and admit to the errors of his ways now.
-
Glad you have great customer service Howard, I don't doubt that at all. I'm angry right now and done with this product so don't call me. I did save the film for show, right along side the 3M film gone bad. Not making false statements here, ocalastinter I'm not the thug your refering to I've been doing this sh** a long time and I work my a** off daily. I'm done here. 3 strikes, 3rd one this Monday coming up.
Edit post.. I kind of said what Howard said... However as usual.. He said it far better than I...
No need for my post now

I'm sure you have a written warranty to prove your claims including roll numbers etc..?
-
On the weekends my 7 year old daughter comes in to "help me out" sometimes. I watch her trying to squeegee the glass etc.. and say to me "I want to be a window tinter Dad" and think to myself... Would I want her to become a window tinter???
I believe that we have a short fall in good quality tinters because we have a short fall in female tinters. And it is no wonder that young women don't want to give it a go..
It is posts like this one that would make the female tinters who would consider maybe looking into learning the craft, not want to go there.
And.. It is posts like this that make me feel negative about encouraging my own daughter to look into tinting as a career.
I have tried to stay diplomatic.. But... What a dirt bag topic from a pig.
