  1. Great video. I’ve been wanting to do a more crude test myself with a leaf blower and rocks too. VERY surprised to see xpel the thinnest. Very pleased to see STEK as the most durable film between xpel, suntek & stek. I haven’t used scotch guard only because I thought it didn’t look good but I will try it based on this video. Thanks for the hard work!! Glad I stumbled upon it.

  2. I just did a black one with matte stripes. The stripes were very thick, almost made of a thin layer of ABS plastic it looked extremely durable and more chip resistant than ppf. I trimmed beside them. I’ve wrapped over gloss stripes before and yes there was a air line. Try practicing with a 40% ipa mixture of 70% ipa & water. It will allow you to get the line closer in my opinion.

  3. Sorry I'm just now seeing your post.

    How did it turn out?

I would have told you to tack it down on the fenders yes, starting at each side by the windshield, give it a little tug to flatten it out across the top, then go to the front and do the same but you'll have to give it a lot more stretch to get the front edge to sit flat.  Use surface prep (adhesive promoter) on the entire edge of the valley and front edge.  Use lot of soapy water and tack down that valley edge, then gently push the water out down to the nose.  Squeage those valley's well cause they are a bubble haven if you don't.  If you do get some bubbles in those valley's be very careful when you pop and suck them out as you don't want to blow up that whole valley again with air.  Give it some time to settle and stick down before you pop them and make sure you'll holding down the area when  you stick the needle in.

Make sure you pull the front center area down well as you will have to pull it side to side quite a bit and if it's not pulled down well enough when you trim out those letters you'll get some nasty creases.  And don't try to trim out the letters individually, do the whole word.

I got it down pretty good first try actually..to my surprise the valleys in the center laid down nice and easy ... I did trim each letter individually tho. It was easier than I thought! Still a bitch though. :)
  4. except the mid scoop , similar hood , and no fingers , or minimum.
stretch the material and  tack the film before you squeegee .
if you work a partial kit  , than bulk it , so you are not limited to options....

Nice - I have done the Xpel training as mentioned above - and they didn’t teach us anything regarding bulk installing - and, there are instances where you NEED it for a clean, and less stressful install. I left the training program feeling overwhelmed and afraid to install anything because I knew I would never ever be confident enough to install it perfectly because they were so hard on us.. so it was good that they gave us that Mindset, but ultimately it resulted in me looking for other options in film, finding different install methods and solutions and moving forward .. the amount of film used in the training program was nice yes but it was all while using the GEL which was an absolute nightmare. I will never use the gel ever again after to switching to baby shampoo. Good luck and stick with it - don’t lose momentum!
  5. This was my first time doing ppf. I came across some issues. The issues were water bubble, dust, peeling & what I think is adhesives of the film. Can any one help me to fighter out how to prevent this from happening in the future. I also experienced a lot of issues wrapping the edges of the hood. I got fingers across every edge that I had trouble putting down. It took a lot of time and some of them ended up as dry marks. Is there a process to putting fingers down? I'm using SunTek Ultra as my film.

Suntek ultra out of most of the films is one of the easier to install - were you using baby shampoo as your slip? To wrap an edge - you must let the film dry - and then Wrap —
