  1. yep. thats kinda part of the plan. offering mobile but only to ppl with a garage or inclosed structure to work in. i just need to get my current situation figured out. my boss came to me this week with an opportunity to negotiate new terms. i think im a good installer so i want to be making the most i can but my employer has been good to me so i want to be fair.
  2. are you dealing with sales or service? something most service managers can relate to is a parts to labor ratio or in your case materials to labor. a good manager is going to pushing for a 0.6-0.7 to 1 ratio. that might be a good start for you. $38.43/y = 0.6/1 y= 1/0.6 x $38.43 y= $64.05 would be the high end for labor cost. then factor in the rest of your costs. more wiggle room if dealing with sales directly. i work at a dealership and our sales department pays roughly $350 for around 16 sq ft. both those numbers are very rough estimates.
  3. i have. to the point of having my business license, tools, llc, and the .com rights for a website. life happened and i dont have the money needed to get a place to install or materials. the plan is to negotiate better terms at the full time so i can start something on the side.
  4. My question is the typical "how much should i get paid". i understand there are multiple variables that come into play to answer that. ill try to give as much background as possible. i work at a chevy dealership but also cover a buick/gmc and cadillac store so almost all my cars are GM. im a one man army that does everything involved in an install. with that in mind i can do h-f-m-b in 4-6hrs from going to get the car to pulling it back out of the stall. roughly 1-2 hrs for h-f-m. ive been installing tint and ppf for 6 years. in those 6 years ive had maybe half a dozen or so comebacks on the ppf side. im in the kansas city area. the answer im looking for is the total amount i should make on those installs. i can work backwards from there to figure out the rest of the equation. forgot to mention those are partial hood and fenders on those 2 packages.
