  1. The last time I let anyone watch..They ended up picking up the heat gun to heat a finger while I walked off to refill the spray bottle..From a finger to a big bubbling and boiling glue..I had kindly stopped and removed everything and told him I cannot work on your vehicle anymore..Too much time talking, explaining that for a simple Camry it felt like eternity. What made it worse my bluetooth speaker was missing so couldn’t ignore them.

Most of the Armolan is made by Garware. I have worked with them in a couple countries and think it's a really nice film. Armolan might sell film from different manifacturs in each part of the world, it's above my pay grade :) Huge in Russia with lots of long lasting installs from what I hear.

Great people work the European offices in Germany and the US offices in California imo.

The two ply non reflective film available in the States is my main reference.

    Cheers

It is Garware, India (claim that "made in usa" but made in India, marketed in USA).

The Best film I’ve ever used and has lasted  without color change is the Global qdp .since 05..I have a vehicle parked out in the same spot for 13 years that has global 20% on it..No change in color..In which we know is from garware..I noticed it has a (tang) or orange like smell to it when I first tried it..I notice with the similar smell and feel on the armolan roll I have (Non reflective).. I say if it quacks like one..👍🏽👍🏽 It is....Evidence of Garware...? Maybe? That would be a good thing. I’ll just call and ask I guess..

I think everyone should pay for their own tools and film and work straight commission.  tools will last longer and less film wasted.

Hourly or salary leads to unsustainable economics.  If everyone gets a raise every year, eventually you have to raise prices or buy cheaper film.  I had a 60/40 split with all the accounts I had for 11 years.  I got the same 60% and yet I got a raise every year.   No they did not raise prices either.   Had to train sales staff on products and good, better best system to increase average gross per delivery.  Studied other techniques and tools to see if the adaptation would increase speed or reduce redo's.

Sales is the highest paid hardest work or the lowest paid easiest work.  applies to tinters as well,  make as much money as you want.  On commission,  I don't care what I pay them, I do care what they make.  Actually for the owners out there.  you don't pay them.  sales pays the techs by booking work.  techs pay sales staff by doing the work.  whats left pays the bills and if they are good,  they pay the owner whats left over.

Makes a lot of sense..Mechanics do it..Hauling there big tool boxes to wherever  hired them..

  5. This is for the single rolls not the ones from the boxes or the ones in it's

dispensers...When I use one I keep'em in the bag that I bought it with..

like a wally world bag or whatever store..When I get so busy it sometimes

it ends up on the car seats or on the roof..picking up hair or dirt that can

scratch up the film during the hard card process!!Also dropping the roll by accident on the floor..So I keep'em in the bag and just dispense from there..

  6. Does anyone try to keep their inventory simple? Like carrying only 5,20,35,50% for example!!

That also goes for carrying one or two lines of what your brand offers!!

example:Johnsons Ray guard,Silhouette, executive, vision etc!! And I would carry just silhouette

or Silho and Ray G!! I've heard some would carry metal only!! If you do,How does that work out

for you? Just trying to find an easier solution instead of stressin on having to get it all (lines),

and to keep it simple w/great results!! Maybe carrying just the lifetime is the best bet but

those charcoals sure do come in handy when it comes to matching!!Oh and do you use more than

one brand or 2?You trust ones metal films and the others char? :bat

  7. I see what you guys go thru down there!! I've done 2 Tauruses from Cali

the past 2 weeks and a Neon!!The Taurus when I took off the plastics and

the strips the doors were like a sand box!! Neon also had dust all over the

the seals!! The desert state!! We've got a whole bunch of trees up here

that does most the filtering for us!!

  8. I'm starting to find metal film much easier to shrink then dyed!!

Doesn't shrink as fast or crease up easy!!Plus I can shrink

two times the fingers!!I know it's sound like the other way around

..But does anyone else choose metal over dyed for shrinking!!

I'm thinking about discontinuing dyed maybe just 35% for matching

    the factories (SUV)!!

  9. Now I'm lost w/the tint laws!!Washington!!Some say 20sumthing % all around!!35% all around!!IWFA says 35% and ANY on the back half!!help!! Powerints,anybody whats law here?thanx!!
