Yes. All our batteries are 'smart'.
Don't they have "smart" chargers, so to speak. Where it will only put a charge to it when it needs it. So if you put it on the base for charging, it could detect whether it needs to charge or not.
The constant battery charging and discharging would kill the battery in a few months. Not worth it if you consider cost of battery is more than most conventional heat guns. Rechargeable batteries are all about the charge cycles.A docking station that allowed for cool-down as well as recharging without battery removal would be a kicka$$ feature for the shop dwellers.
Your smart batteries aren't the issue. Constant charging will still shorten the life span, as will heat. Even lithium ion batteries suffer from this, just not as bad as ni-cad

My wife's pot roast. With potatoes and baby carrots. Slow cooked for what seems all day.

My issue would be, why didn't the shop owner read the warranty before buying the film? I don't tint much, but I do read what the products I use cover and the warranty with each one. If I read fading isn't covered, I wouldn't buy it. But to some degree, all film fades, right? Maybe not after a few months but eventually. Unless the owner of the film company or rep stated it wouldn't fade or that it would be covered, I'd be hard pressed to see an issue?

I recently did a training with Nano Fusion and the trainer said you could literally pull a piece out of the trash and use it. So I went to the trash and found a weeded piece that had been balled up and discarded. After soaking then film in soap and water, I sort of washed the adhesive side off and used it to bulk install on a mirror, Guess what?? It looked great and tacked up with no issue, no glue stretch, no tension lines. I was told MMM would be the same but after reading these replies, i doubt itHi guys, new to the board but I've been a long time installer. Curious to know about the 3m Scotchguard Pro and what you mean by it stresses more around contours. Did you mean that the glue distorts easier? I was told you could ball up the film and pull it apart again without the risk of glue separating from the film. Maybe that quality is a draw back when trying to tact it to the paint. I'm excited to try the film and how the end result look. Who did you guys talk to in order to get a roll of bulk film to play with? Am I going to have to call him :minichuckto get something done? Thanks!
Reasonable defects following paint protection film installation?

I seriously doubt that anyone does flawless installs. I have seen flaws in every install I have ever seen. But to say they only fix "major" flaws is not a good business practice. Maybe and I hope, they mean because of the opticoat being applied previously? It's hard to warranty something like that as it might cause major install issues.
