  1. So I just got my windshield done with crystalline and I wanted to know if it's okay for things like the inspection sticker to be stuck to it. Will I be able to remove those types of stickers without damaging the film in the future. I'm really curious about my car wash. I have a monthly membership and they have a rfid sticker that looks like it would never come off without a razor and they refused to put it anywhere else. Like they said it wouldn't work if it was on the plastic a pillar for some reaon (I don't think they know how the tech works). The only idea I've come up with is get a small piece of clear vinal and put it in the upper corner where they stick the thing or just some scotch tape. Maybe stupid ideA. What do y'all think?

  2. Just got my 4runner done. 3m crystalline all around. 70 on windshield and 40 on everything else. So far I'm really liking it. Honestly I think I got myself over hyped on the heat reduction. I mean it helps a lot but it's not like you won't have to run your ac. I wanted to note a few things I had trouble finding easily so people doing research can see pictures and read this here

    1) the color differences btw the different levels. Yes the 40 and below look a tad brown but really it's not a deal breaker. You can really only tell if you take a pic like these. Once your in the car looking out your eyes adjust and it doesn't look brown anymore. From the outside it just looks black. The 70 does look a bit...a bit, blue but same thing. Not a deal breaker.

    2) if you wear polarized glasses.  Things will be rainbowish through the tint. But it's not like theres a giant rainbow blocking your vision out of the windshield. Instead other cars and other cars windows will sometimes appear rainbow. And sometimes the sky will too but anyone that wears polarized glasses is already used to these kind of things. The worst is my back window. When the sun hits it the whole bottom half is a crazy rainbow dot matrix and can actually obscure vision. But hey, good thing I have a 4runner and can roll down the back window if need be.

    3) at certain times the sun hit the window just right and it is hazy but this is only my first couple days so we will see if that changes. From what I hear it won't ever go away completely.

    4) I am REALLY glad I drove 2 hours away to get the windshield done because the crystalline installed here does not carry 70 so I went to one that did and it isn't much different but it's exactly what I wanted on he windshield. Just slightly darkened. Really sets off the whole look.

Overall I am a satisfied customer!  Just really don't think it's worth a grand but hey. It's just money. And as a travel nurse I take a lot of long road trips so I think I'll look back with no regerts when that sun is trying to cook my arm and it can't. ;)

i will have to come back and update my opinions and anything else learned as time goes on. Thanks everyone for your indirect help as I spent a lot of time reading your posts researching window film.

  3. Hey everyone. Need some advice. I've been doin a lot of reading here and I am going to get my 4runner tinted. I decided on crystalline over huper and f1. I wanted c70 on the windshield and c40 on the rest But the only crystalline certified place in town does not stock the c70.  He said he never sold it so he doesn't stock it anymore. so I could only get the 90 on the windshield.

So the question is should I just get the c90 or go with a diff product for the windshield? I wanted that just barely dark of the c70 for aesthetics  but mostly wanted the heat rejection. But I've heard somebody people say the c90 is worthless. What other windshield (70+) films should I consider and how do they stack up with the c90?

    Thanks!

  4. Hey all. I am a consumer. Doing research on tint for my 4runner. Looking at crystalline or huper. I want the front windshield done but I have questions about legality.

When I look at the tint law charts there isn't a state that gives a percent for the front windshield. They all just give the as1 line or inches but the tint shops here (tx) will stick cr90 but won't do cr70.

So I guess my question is is the cr90 just light enough hat no one gets fines ever and is actually still illegal or is there an actuall vlt% allowance on the windshield?

    Thanks!
