i had a local installer hold the global ceramic qdp 38 (measures at 38 I believe) up to my front window and measure. It came out to 27
Not going with Global but do you guys think I should go with 35 or 40 percent tint. I've seen 35 but never 40, not sure if 40 would be a waste of money
Hi,
I have narrowed down my tint to either Pinnacle or IRX in 35%, price is the same. Installers both good. Which should I go for, I haven't seen either in person and have to drive a little bit for them.
I haven’t had the tint put on yet. She was saying that although the stock windows measure at 75, it’s not a true tint and that it won’t bring the actual tint percentage down but only 2-3 percentages, not like a true 75 percent tint would. I’m just wondering if that has been your guys experience as well with stock windows?
i plan on taking to a shop and have them hold tint up to the window and measure to see if it’s true.
My state legal limit is 35 with 5 percent variance. I got my stock windows measured at 75. I told this tint place that has IRX my stock ones were measured 75 percent from factory, she told me the IRX 35 wouldn’t take it below 30. She told me the factory tint is a little different when combined with a film and wouldn’t bring it down below 30 if I use the 35 tint.
She seemed pretty confident, is she right?
If I take .75 times .38 (IRX 35) I get 28 percent tint combined?
Getting tint done in next couple weeks trying to choose a place. all decent installers.
local places:
place 1 : uses rayno s9 ceramic. $300
place 2: llumar ceramic ctx $349
place 3: global nr quick dry ceramic $430.00
Drive 2 hours to
Place 4: Llumar IRX $400.00
Place 5: Llumar formula 1 pinnacle $400.00
Which would you guys do, all seem like good installers?
Yea pretty much all the installers close to me use global with a couple using Madico. The ones using global are charging around 250 and some charging 350 for standard global tint.
Seems high to me on price considering there is a shop a little distance from me that does llumar tint for 225 and considering the llumar film costs more for them to buy.
Seemd to me also that the local guys using global are making the most money because they are charging more for install and buying the tint cheaper than llumar
I’ve been calling around my area and nearly everyone around me charges around 275-350 for regular tint of global and 100 more for ceramic global
a shop like 1 hour 15 mins away charges 215 for regular and like 300 for ceramic using llumar.
obviously like the price of place using llumar more but they are kinda far away. I thought I read llumar cost more as well. Which would you do in this situation?
I’m currently calling shops to tint my car. All the shops seem to carry global tint. There is one shop that uses Llamar. If cost is the same for install, which should I go for? Probably will get ceramic, thanks!
