sorry guys if this is off topic, but isnt it not good to apply ppf to a freshly painted cars, painters are saying the paint will bubble up cause of the paint toxins have no way of escaping. just curious if they are blowing smoke or its true.

That is absolutely true. We have seen it here, sometimes it will bubble up right before your eyes. I give a standard exclusion to body shops, "I will do it whenever you want me to do it, but if you don't wait for the paint to cure, you WILL BE CHARGED for the redo, and if the paint lifts, sorry not my fault." Usually it is enough to make them wait, but we still do a few body shops that want/need it done right away. Usually if the car is baked it turns out ok, but if there is a small blem in install, we would rather leave it than take the chance of lifting paint. Large blems, another story. It is best if they can be patient for 3 weeks or so.

As a professional (HA!) painter during my day job I will tell you this.

I don't give a crap how many times it was baked. There are still chemical processes going on and final cross linking doesn't occur until usually 30 days out.

This includes things like latex wall paint that you use on your bedroom.
