infiniti g35 windows move when door closed

It didn't move higher than normal, it just sealed the way it's supposed to. Retint them and either put a clamp on the button inside the door jams, or if it's older than 09 I believe, just pull the screw on that said button. The screw is the ground and it'll trick the door into being closed. The newer ones do have a complicated reset if you choose to pull the screw. Do a search here, you'll be able to find it....

we clamped the button in the door jam to tint the windows, after we were done the window moved higher than the factory setting, you can push down but when you close the door it moves higher again. I know there is a reset procedure just dont know what it is.

Found it.............

1. Remove the Door Panel. 2003-2005 Front Door Panel Removal Procedure

2. With the door open, lift UP and HOLD the Window Switch until the Window is fully closed.

• Do not use the Window auto-closing function

• Do not release the Switch before the Window is fully closed

3. Get inside the vehicle and close the door.

• You need to close the door so the Door Switch is fully depressed

4. Press and HOLD the Window Regulator Motor Reset Switch. (located inside door on motor) While holding the Reset Switch, press DOWN and HOLD the Window Switch until the Window is fully opened.

• Do not use the Window auto-opening function

• Do not release the Switch before the Window is fully opened

Click image to see it larger

5. Release the Reset Switch. Then, lift UP and HOLD the Window Switch until the Window is fully closed.

• Do not use the Window auto-closing function

• Do not release the Switch before the Window is fully closed

6. Open the Door to release the Door Switch. The Window Glass should partially move down.

7. Re-install the Door Panel.

Ok, good find on the reset info, but did the film cover the bottom edge of the glass after following this procedure?

What caused the need for the reset?

"Tricking" the lock into thinking the door is closed is normal procedure for tinters and normally does not cause problems so why is this car such a PITA?

even though you went through the "reset" procedure, the window is still going to do it. All modern coupe windows do that, to seal the window. resetting the switches has nothing to do with it.

most cars can be done in one of two ways. Push/trick the button as has been said, or on mustangs and similar, physically force the latch in the door closed, so the door thinks its closed. Then tint as normal, and pull the handle to "unlatch" the door when done so you can close it without messing it up.

Frameless windows need a lot of heat on the bottom so that it doesn't get messed up when it goes up/down all day while the customer drives until the film dries.
