how many times can you retint window?

Im trying to fine tune my skills on my own car. On stans dvds he mentions only being able to retint the trainer car doors so much b4 they need replacing. Does it depend on how you remove the tint? Id like to keep practicing on the cars available to me over and over. But I dont want to go to far as to damage the car. Is he referring to scratching the glass, damaging the seals, or something else?

Off topic.. Your hat looks 3D.. At first I thought you had a new age cossack hat.. But I now see it's a flat brim DC cap.. Shame.. The cossack hat would make a pretty cool trend.. Just look at this trend setter..

You can tint a side window a million times if you are removing the film with a steamer.. A rear screen can be a different story.. The demister/defogger bars will break down after constant removal.

 

Keep practicing Nick.. There is always a need for good tinters :thumb

lmao! Custom made hat, got the the hat off ebay for 6 bucks, cut the dc print on my us cutter plotter :):)

 

I have been steaming them off, so that's good to know thats the best way...

I like that!! You know how to save a buck.. You will need to do that as a tinter.

It would be the constant scraping of the side windows that would ruin the glass. Other than that you can tint your side windows a million times. Stan's vids sound pretty popular.. I am hoping 1 day to go to SEMA and meet the man in person. I have huge respect for him.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      All Right cool. I've been practicing with an inexpensive tint I found on amazon. Its called Rockrose. I'm just about ready to make some cards to pass around to get clientele. I've been debating if I should start with Puremax cuz its a lot cheaper or Geoshield cuz of the great quality I've heard of. I'll probably go with Geoshield so I can make it easy on myself and make sure I do great quality work for my customers. Are you already doing doing jobs for customers? If so, did you stop using the Puremax and now only use Geoshield?

      Heavy Ghosting - Geoshield "Geo" Line

      Ghosting week require a smoother, more even and spread out shrink. Look at my old "ryk shrink" using 2 heart guns with an over/under setup. That would be my suggestion.

      Heavy Ghosting - Geoshield "Geo" Line

      Hey all, I am not a pro tinter but more or less just someone who likes to experiment / DIY. Wanted to ask if there was anyone here who has used the Geoshield "Geo" line for automotive purposes? I really like the color, but I get really bad ghosting for anything that requires decent shrinking. The film is specced as architectural, but has a PS adhesive so some use it in auto applications. I sent an email to see if that is the reason why it's for flat glass .. lol This is a sputtered TiN film and has a beautiful color imho. This reminds me of Huper Optik, and not quite sure but I think Johnson had a line called "InsulatIR" that I could never get my hands on to try. The film has a slightly purplish reflection (TiN I guess), when put on green auto glass, filters out and looks super neutral. ❤️ I've had it on my auto for a while but my rear window is a mess when the sun hits it (ghosting) and was curious if this is just not suitable for auto Any info would be appreciated. Skill issue, ie: shrink with lower heat? lol Thanks.

      chameleon window tint good quality

      If you don't mind trying to source some, there is a large Japanese manufacturer that makes a bunch of dichroic - looking films. It might be your style, but it would be hard to get your hands on some. https://www.braintec.co.jp/filmlab/ I believe some of the films do have decent heat-rejection, but because of the nature of the films, looking through them can be really funky. They are well-known in Japan and would likely be of decent quality. Also, very expensive. Depending on where you are, shipping would also be $$$.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      I feel the difference in quality with geoshield. Not only is it easier to peel the liner off but shrinking feels better and I think the material feels slightly thicker(helps with not creasing) Only downside that the price noticeably different. For mainly everything Its atleast another 100 on top of for example stuff from tints Lexen. I haven’t tried solarfree either.

      At least twice, yes. Although since we don't know what vehicle it is you're planning to tint, that was a bit presumptuous of me.
