hey guys, how many of y'all use a small propane heater to go over the outside of the glass when you are done? what all does this do and how effective is it? one tinter at my dealership said when your first starting out to not use it. he uses it on every car when he is done.

does using that help you get a better tint job by using that? of course if your not careful you can burn the tint or the weatherstrips

All the propane torch does is give you a hotter, smaller area of heat source. Yes, you have to be real careful when using them to make sure you don't burn/melt outside trim panels. Stick with the heat guns until you are confident enough on what you are doing.

so its not really used to get a better tint by removing any little water remaining in the film? thanks for the info Ocala

The extra heat will cause the film to dry faster but usually not necessary unless you have a crease you are trying to smooth out.

If your trying to accelerate the curing process use a hair dryer. That way you can prop it up in the back window turn it on high and let it be. It'll get the tint hot but not hot enough to damage anything.
