jh812
Mustang that I have to strip today has two layers of film on the back glass. Ive always used the bagging technique. I'm wondering if I should try and strip the top layer first or just setup as normal? Any recommendations?
Tintguy1980
First layer should come away with the second layer's SR coat, easy, just pick and rip. Bag the bottom layer.
DOOTINT
You can't peel it all off in one shot? If 2 sheets have been applied Or old nasty stuff one ply(of 2 ply cheeseball film) of it comes off and the second part of it is going to be horrible to get off,,have fun with that
jh812
It's two layers of global qdp so shouldn't have to worry about that. Girl didn't want to pay to strip the other and put 5. Now she just has to strip the whole thing.
DOOTINT
The newer better films should peel rite off,,then you just have the glue
jh812
First layer peeled right off. On to bagging if this rain will hold off.
DOOTINT
The Bagging thing is spray 4O9 on it and put black garbage bag over it and park it in the sun?
jh812
Yes it is. I use ammonia though. Just had never tried it with two layers of film. Also I use clear leaf bags. Makes it easier to cut. Also leave the car running with heat and defrost on.
tintcracker
Since its qdp they should both come off in one shot just bag it.
jh812
Not sure already stripped the first layer it came right off. I was just worried the two would stay connected.
