Best windshield tint

Recommended Posts

I currently have 3M dyed 45% on windshield and CS50 on front sides.

I get some rainbow colour and dashboard reflection from inside view.

I'm looking for best optical clarity from inside view, so minimal low angle haze, dashboard reflection. etc.

Should i go darker or lighter film? I have read about ceramic having haze problems, so should i stick with dyed film? I don't care about heat as i'm from Europe.

The dashboard reflection happens with all film and is there without film, you will want a lighter shade to reduce that...something in the 70-90 range.  I would recommend a Ceramic or similar on the windshield to get the heat rejection because the standard dyed film you have now is not doing much, basically just adding a shade to it.  So doing a lighter shade will be pointless unless you get a higher heat rejection film.

Thank you recommendations. I need some glare reduction, so 70% tint does not do much for that.

I was thinking about 3M color stable 50%.

Any idea if reflective or non reflective tint reduce dashboard reflection?

Does crystalline 70% have haze issues?

3M CS will be a small step up from 3M FX (assuming that is what you have now) in Glare Reduction.  Not sure if it will be a noticeable amount.  Dashboard reflection will probably be about the same.

No haze issues with Crystalline 70. Just great heat rejection. We install a ton of CR70 on windshields and our customers love it!

If you are not concerned with heat, just glare.....why not just wear sunglasses during the day,and enjoy the better visibility at night without a dark tint on windshield????

3m crystalline is a great film . One of the best technology goes. I have it on my evo @ 70%. Does a fantastic job at heat reduction. No hazing and helps night vision . Formula one stratos is what I use on customers cars now and it's very similar to crystalline wise. But cheaper too!
