  1. We have a very successful established auto tinting business we are considering selling so we can retire.  Currently we are open 5 days a week, do some PPF installs but do not do Flat Glass with one employee.  There is much upside potential for this business and a good reputation along with a complete website keeps the clientele coming in. If you are interested, contact me at tint4u@gmail.com

    Serious inquiries only please.

If you can show that you can move it I am sure they will.  There is a dealer in GA that installs in a parking deck of one of the malls.  And I don't mean he is mobile and just prefers to tint there...he has a makeshift shop in the parking deck.

    Have tint, will travel!

  3. A good website that drives the people to you is a MUST if you are just starting out.  I started our shop after 30 years traveling to dealerships. I had dealership work that brought income in and an installer that took care of them.  That was in 2012. Now we have no dealership work to speak of and everything we get is retail off the website. I picked the expensive side of town where I knew people could afford to tint their cars if their was an economic collapse or slowdown. One of the best decisions I made. $1900 for everything is a good price if you can make that back in a day or two. Bad if it takes a week or two.

  4. XPEL still gets my vote. I tried a whole 24" roll of new 3M. Then a customer specifically asked for Xpel Ultimate. I ordered a roll in and could not believe how good it was and wondered why I ever used 3M. The Ventureshield 3M is still a better product IMHO. Sorry Todd (3M), I was soooooo hoping it would be better. Bottom line, it IS better than old 3M, but not better than Xpel Ultimate. The installation mix still is not working for me. I will say it is VERY clear, but tack lines and pull marks are still happening with the Pro and that is a killer on black and dark colors. I have had to recut several hoods because they looked wierd after I installed the film. This cuts into my profit and with the film already costing several hundred dollars, I have to ask myself if it is really worth it or not to offer 3M when I can't get it on and looking good the first time. :dunno

  5. They sent me the whole "The contents of this box will change your business forever" package. It had a scuff pad and a sample of their new MMM and Xpel Ultimate on it. It said to scuff the films and see which one healed better. I did. Guess what? Xpel healed better. MMM still has faint scratches on it. Xpel has none. I was really hoping that MMM would be better, but it wasn't. :sad Bummer. Not sure if I will offer it or not when there are so many other options on the market now.

  6. So, we have been selling the PanaFlex Ceramic IR film since April 1st. I LOVE THIS FILM! It installs just fine. Adhesive is not as aggressive as Valiant's Sirius line, but then again it's not the same animal either. ALL of my customers love this film once it is installed. 8 out of 10 will pony up an extra (100 male deer) for this film once they see the heat box demonstration. Albeit a small company, FlexFilm is gaining recognition and it is making some distributors of other films angry and nervous enough to blow smoke their direction. I for one think FlexFilm has stumbled onto something here and I will ride it all the way to the bank!

    Thanks Ralph! : :cool

  7. I talked to the guy one day when I was looking around at films to try out...I have the price list if you want me to send it to you...He knows a lot about film and has a lot of great videos...Some of the information I don't agree with but I am hard headed, only 10 years exp for me and about 25 for him so I'm sure he might be right in the long run...

But the film, I told him or asked how about a sample to really see what its like....He said no, only that I could by a whole roll and if I didn't like it I could send it back full refund. Sorry but I'm no fool, I don't want to take a chance and maybe get some :poop and be stuck with it....

I think that it would be incredibly stupid for any distributor of films that has a presence on this forum to make a money back guarantee and then not honor it. After all, this is our industry's leading forum, and if you are going to make a favorable impression, this is the place to do it. Since thousands of seasoned professional read everything on this site, I would consider this to be "professional suicide". Certainly not something I want to go anywhere near.

We are not going to stick anyone with the purchase VA Man and WeTint. Just because it might have happened to you in the past doesnt mean that we operate that way. Dont put everyone in the same barrel, you might miss out on something....

Howard, Thanks for the input. You DO know your stuff when it comes to film - I'll give you that.

Deep, I have ordered and am impressed with the Panaflex! I see a bright future ahead for us with your film... especially with our clientele.

Thanks to all for their input on FlexFilm Distributing.

I WILL say one thing about Ralph and FlexFilm... I would rather purchase from a fellow tinter who has been down much of the same roads I have over the past 28 years than a salesperson in an office several states away. His approach to our industry as well as a few others on here is the business model I prefer.

    Thanks Ralph.

  8. My guess is car dealerships have sole control over what film is used in car dealerships. But I digress. I have been using Flex Film since last summer and I've turned out my best winter in history and project my best year yet in regards to film sales.

I'm not gonna bad mouth other products, especially without inside knowledge of their practices, but I've been tinting windows since I was a little kid and my father has over 30 years of experience. We both use Flex Film and it's changed our ability to compete in the South Florida market where tinters resort to charging 50-100 dollars/ car just to compete. It's no longer about doing as many cars as we can in a day, it's about upselling the customers we do get to a better film.

We've had a great response from our customers and have had interest from high end dealerships and car boutiques to sell this product. Like I said, I'm not gonna talk bad about other films, I'm just going to describe my experience with Flex Film, and it's been life changing.

This is EXACTLY the reason for the original post to this forum. I want input from those who use and trust this brand (Flex Film) and can tell me why.

I apologize to Llumar reps, distributors, installers, and Soltuia for inadvertently steering the conversation into a wrong direction. This is NOT a bash Llumar post!

    For the record...

Llumar has consistently been a major player in this industry and as such has been an innovator as well. They supply arguable 90% of the raw poly to all of us. I just have a problem with their inability to be more competitive in their pricing at a time when many of the very dealers who built their business through years of loyalty are struggling to stay in business.

    That having been said...

More of you PLEASE wiegh in on Flex Film and what you like/dislike about it, especially their IR and ceramic films.
