So many ways to respond to that, but I'll try to stick to the high road....
Rocky, Master, Fox, Wiz and Lock, thank you for proving that not all men are MORONS
To the OP, there are many hot female tinters, but I feel safe in saying that you have little chance of ever meeting one. (BTW I've never used that emoticon before, but it feels appropriate)
Hey TeeDub, loser of a post to meet you under I agree.
You must be one of the original Aussie TintDuder's on here, I have seen many of your older posts.
Good to 'meet' you, the Aussie section must look totally different to you these days, but we are all a pretty tight knit bunch that share many local issues on and off TD.
Glad to see your back

What you need is an excellent, ANY gender, ANY race, colour or creed tinter AND a hot girlfriend
Bad idea to get the two mixed up.
-
Of course you do them. They really aren't that hard you might just have to modify a tool or two.

beats me mate?car goes perfect dots let me down , only in the split window/7seater
Captiva? Did one today in Fusion42, came out great .??
just steel wool man , hard press bout 10mins later and sweet, I don't get good results on the captiva tho ?Must be doing something I'm not? Do you treat the matrix any differently? Doesn't matter what film I use even oxide it will show. It's 1000% better than others for the matrix, but doesn't come out like the rest I'd like to know how u do that would solve a problem
Try sanding with 1200 wet/dry and then steel wool, that fusion sticks like hell to dots and usually doesn't leave much air underneath ...except for things like your really raised VW dots

Nice Juzzy, how did you go with the BRZ rear screen?
-
Ford Ranger.
Double application, as specified by the customer...
3M BC35 and CS20...
Don't ask me why.... I'm just the tinter. [emoji53]
On the plus side, he paid double my fee.
Came out nice though Ultra, maybe he knew something.
And I thought you didn't stock the Black Chrome???
-
Nice Mike.
Love how your valuable guy is given the harness, the guy in the camo pants must be the expendable gopher

You don't like the FX or the BC?
I agree Smartie. CR and CS are the only 3M auto films I'll use.Of the films mentioned at the first post CS would be the best choice. I'd steer clear of a 5% film as it is nothing but probable cause for law enforcement to bite time out of your day.
If you're he11 bent on a 3M product, consider their CM or CR products, which have far better performance in lighter more safe shades.http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=66666UgxGCuNyXTtnxf6oXT6EVtQEcuZgVs6EVs6E666666--&fn=Auto%20WF%20Performance%20Data.pdf
I know the FX isn't colour stable and the BC35 is too reflective... But you don't stock them?
-
I've used a lot of SP35 in the past and so has a mate of mine and we have found that rear screens due to their exposure angle to the sun have crucified this product leading to redos.I am a fan of Johnsons Silhouette. I have used it for 12 years now and my mentor for around 20 years. I have seen several vehicles I have done over 10 years ago that look as good as they did the day they were tinted and that is in this tropical Florida climate. It is a little too reflective for some peoples taste. I also like Johnson's Marathon line. its not quite as reflective and matches up better with factory tinted glass. I have all the confidence in the world in Silhouette film after thousands of installs. I cannot comment on the other films listed because I have never used them. Good luck on your decision.
To their credit not once have the local arm of JWF ever not failed in compensation to us tinters.
Devil
That's surprising Devil. I always considered JWF to be one of the better brands out there and it doesn't get much better than their Silhouette range. I still have 2 rolls of 60" Silhouette on my shelves that I got in some time ago that I haven't got around to using yet. What sort of time frame are we looking at between good looking, classy film and horrible bubbly mess?
Just goes to show .... Don't worry about the Taipans, Red Backs, White Pointers or Dingoes, just our Aussie sun can kill just about anything

Dude. CS is only $70 more????
Just $70? Take it!
Only ever heard bad things about maxpro but you seem to be looking for some type of excuse to cheap out.....
You don't need our permission to buy cheap %&$#.
But it's not our recommendation
Definitely do not want to cheap out... Why else would I get on a forum like this???
I want the best installer with the best product.
I just wanted to make sure the extra $70 was worth it.
I will throw this out there.....how does solarguard compare to 3M?
When you are talking about 3M, Express Window Films, SolarGard, Johnson's, Llumar - they are our industry leaders and all make top quality products that you will not be disappointed with and will offer iron clad warranties.
There are many other suppliers out there also - maybe not with the pedigree of the above listed though.
Film comes in a box, find a top quality shop and guaranteed they will also be using top quality product.
-
Haven't used Maxpro and I won't either. Thanks for responding Tint Eastwood!
I have no brand loyalty to anyone as far as window film goes.
I just didnt know if you experts had experience with any of these brands (and particular films)?
Would love to hear from people who have used them and what their thoughts are, and in particular, if anyone has had bad results from any of the ones I have listed.
Thanks!
I stock the other 3 films and all are quality films with different looks and performances.
You won't be disappointed with either.
-
I removed all the glass from it's frame. And the end result was almost perfect. I was very happy
Your new toy Mick?
Love the custom art work in the background
-
People just love to hate it don't they?Ah, I love a good 3M thread, they never fail to deliver.
More the marketing and testing of it from what I have experienced Ultra, than the actual film.
I personally think 3M should be applauded for their licensed installer program if nothing else. This generally ensures their product is only ever represented by experienced and quality installers and prevents a lot of price bashing in the market place of their product. A win/ win for all.

Watch the hatch for water drainage guys. It has been pointed out before that the water drains down the wiring harness of the hatch and into the roof lining.
Pull the wiring plugs and stuff with cloths to soak up the water.
Cheers Ultra.
I've done it on my last few now. Tikka gave me the heads up.

On my last window of a 60'' roll of security film.....
For a home......
What a day
Almost beer o'clock mate. Keep going, don't forget the cheque on the way out

Haha.
Daz, this is when architects/interior designers think they know it all.
The big boardroom has 3.6m total drops and the opaquest (is that a word?) to be centred.
Then match the smaller office panes the same.
They also didn't figure the lighting conditions.
It's the reverse effect and giving you block out from within instead of the other way around.
Like the perforated stuff everyone tries to sell off as one way. Lol.
Not my problem
^^^ good work 35. Keep it up!
That's right mate, keep your mouth shut, don't ruffle any feathers and collect your cheque on the way out
Nice work as usual.

Sounds like a reboxer to me. Nothing wrong with that in itself I suppose, as long as the reboxer is reputable.Well I was looking online and seem to be a pretty good company, I called and spoke to one of their reps who answered all of my questions, getting a sample of their film this week so I can see how it molds and shrinks.
The only question you need answered is "what is the manufacturers name" . Find that out and there will be plenty of info out there for you.

the problem with pre inspections is if you do miss something and then they see it later then you did it no matter what in their eyes. I recently got blamed for vertical scratches in the 1 window i retinted for the customer, scratches on the outside of the window and well voer 100 of them side by side from dirt in the outside rubber as the window has gone up and down over its 15 years it has been on the road for. he got angry at me and i lsot it at him and said 2 options, i rip the tint off now and you leave immediately or you pay now and leave with a perfectly tinted window, i also offered to get an autoglass company in to inspect these scratches for him which he declined
Yeah, I know Mates. I am really in 2 minds as to whether these people really have never noticed the damage or are they hoping to get the better of you and have you pay to fix up their car. I always like to think the best of people but I wasn't born yesterday either.

I agree with UltraTint. Cameras can save you a lot of grief. I had a custy last year that insisted that we put a 1 cm scratch in the middle of her roof. I explained to her that I tinted her car personally whilst my employees were having lunch and at no time do we need to go anywhere near the roof. Roll camera and we see her in the carpark put her heavy handbag on the roof searching for her keys. Didn't even get a 'sorry' out of her.
We also walk around every car, old or new,and note all damage and take pics of all damage noted, the sides and front and back and any interior damage and pics of the fuel and odometer readings.
Well worth the extra couple of minutes.
I have also found that by telling your customer when they pick up their car that you have noticed the damage and taken time stamped pics before you moved their car, has drastically reduced the complaints.
Just the world we live in now I suppose.
Hot female tinter wanted
in Window Tinting - General Discussion
Posted
No negativity around here GTS.
We have a questionable topic, and I am sure Thu9 only starts these topics to wind people up, and then every other post is pro equality as any experienced and mature person would acknowledge, that the ability to produce quality work is paramount and gender is irrelevant.
I worked with a 'hot female tinter' once. I must admit, I checked her out and she probably checked me out cause I am a hot male tinter as well hehehe, and from then on it was down to slamming out the work as a team. She was definitely one of the best tinters I have worked with, both ability and attitude.
Your daughter is far too switched on to just be a tinter, I can see her running one of the largest aftermarket car care companies in Sydney though. Don't know if she will keep her dad employed, you'll have to earn your stripes with her
