Ive only seen peanuts on 3 series coupes, but the older ones. And as long as your shrinking right, there should be no peanuts on a 2010 3 series. Easy car,

It definately helps to have a bit of mechanical ability. But once you get a feel for removing door panels, seals, spoilers. They're all pretty similar. I would steer clear of chargers, beetles, corvettes, some audis can be pretty tough as well.

Well tinted that 2016 today. Wasn't too bad, rear seals come out super easy. Front doors I removed door handle trim and the backlit trim to pull the screws, then peeled back the panel and removed seals. Didn't lose any clips, but I see how they could be lost easily. Pointless actually.

Keep practicing and you'll get it. Slow and steady wins the race on these.Guys! I have taken a third attempt at tinting my golf GTI mk5 the rear window I am struggling to flatten the edges even with excess film. I am using a non static glove and hard card however, I think my heatgun has caused unusual stretch marks on one bit of the film.

I've got one of these coming in on Friday. Do the tops just pop back? Or are there screws I need to pull?
-
It's always that last window that bites ya. Atleast meTake your time and never say "Last Window"

Most rear decks come out easy but getting them snapped back in right can be a pain so I don't bother lolThanks man same here don't ever pull rear decks unless the brake light is touching glass. Scares me sometimes when people say it's necessary lol those cars are already tight enough didn't want it to be more of a pita by havin to pull the deck.
-
It's a bit tight but I've never pulled one. If you've got a titan or tailfin tool you'll be fine. I only pull decks on a few cars.
Gotcha thanks! Do u know if the rear deck should be pulled on the 16s? Did a little older model Passat yesterday and the film slid right down. Is the deck easy to pull though just in case? really appreciate it.
There's a plastic trim peice that runs between the door handle and the rear of the door. Pull that peice with a panel tool starting at the back side, there will be one torx screw behind each one. Then just grab the top of the door panel and peel it back, then fish out the seal with a hook tool. When you go to reinstall them, it helps to spray them down with slip so they slide in easily.
Do u have to pull a screw to get the seals out on these? doing a 16' Passat tomorrow and wonderin if the come out as easy?Easy, the seals come out super easy

I feel you pain, my boss listens to that garbage everyday. Same 20 songs on repeat all day basically. That's why I wear my headphones. Usually one. Alternative rock for me, some metal as well.have no choice to have the top 40 winey pop crap.
on my own it's anything from NWA to Ramstien or DieAntwoord Have roughly 8000 songs on the laptop and just set it to shuffle

X2. Don't bite off more than you can shrink. LolIf you try to shrink to much too fast, you will run out of room to shrink the corners. Even if you slow down the fan speed, you will still not have enough to shrink.
@ SK Customs - Try doing the entire window on low fan speed/high heat. It will take longer, but it will help keep you from shrinking too much too fast.

Thanks
Awesome description dude. Nice.I like to take them an inch at a time. Shrink down an inch all the way across, then go back and do it again. So left to right, then right to left, etc, working down an inch at a time. I found out by trying to shrink too much in one area at a time you are going to either crease or burn the film. Shrinking all the way across helps with the tension of the film. I also only anchor vertically on the two side edges. Also when you anchor down a side pull it across as tight as you can before you anchor the other side
Only difference I have is I anchor one verticle side as far out on the edge as possible, and the pull the other side really tight and make a single narrow pass across the center to have a small center anchor (only a finger or two wide) to work top and bottom from like you are talking.
Good on ya Tintcracker

I work along side my boss, he gets a bay I get a bay. We do our own thing, only tag teaming if we're overbooked or running behind. I get paid hourly, but I work 6 days a week, 45 hours every week and make 550. I feel it's low, but whatever I've been at it a little over two years, I'll pay my dues for now.

I listen to indie stuff.
Basically alternative rock from 90s-present

I find the seals to be super tight to the glass.Quattroporte's are challenging cars. Rear door can be tough. Excellent Job looks sweet!

Yeah they have better leather than that rubbery stuff they used before.Got to do one of the 1016 GMC Sierra denali trucks yesterday. These are super sweet! GMC really stepped up the quality and design of the interior.
As soon as I can remeber how to post pics here, will share a few. Haven't posted in ages.
