New tint looks good, do not see any contaminants in the film which is great. This shop used "templates" and glass boards to do their cutting. Very happy with the result

I am at the new shop, opted for Suntek CIR 30. The Vlt from factory is 34, hoping it puts me at 30ish

So I just arrived. The owner took me to their dedicated area where they normally do tinting. There was a car there getting tint performed. Its clean, completely draped and the current tint job there which is an escalade looked great. He said during my appointment, he was doing clear a paint protection and used that bay because it was raining. I said my car should of been rescheduled then instead of done on an area that has a high degree of contamination. He has been very nice, nowhere near as defensive as yesterday. I just wish he would of used the correct area first. Just nervous as they are using razorblades to remove tint, always thought steam was used.I'd just explain in person politely if it were just one piece that were messed up sure no problem. Given the fact that every window has issues you feel more comfortable just having it removed. If they do that gladly I'd walk away ok. If they were to give you lol our mess anything up then it's review time.Right after this, I am on my way to the other shop for tint. The owner knows me as I have had several cars done and said to stop by today.

Owner emailed back and said that I can arrive tomorrow morning and he will remove the tint and refund me. He did say he is disappointed that I would not allow him to correct the issues. Unfortunately, if every single piece of tint had this many issues, I just don't want to go through this multiple times. I do feel bad as I know it does hurt his bottom line. Either way, I am hoping that now I can get a proper tint done. Thanks for all the help, you guys are terrific.

Definitely, I think the suntek will be just fine for me since I know the installer and his other job for me was very nice.As you've just found buying off of film brand isn't always the best decision. Find an installer you know and trust and you'll be much happier than someone that just sells a brand.
Still no update to my email, hoping he responds tomorrow. I know he saw it right already, but did not respond. If there is no response by tomorrow before close, I will have to call. Keeping my fingers crossed this goes smoothly. -
Thanks everyone for the help. I was nervous to post as I searched the forum and seen other posts where users complained about a couple dust spots. I was just taken aback by how many were in this job. They weren't visible that much until everything dried. I will update the thread when I hear back. I am leaning towards Carl Darling only because I know they have a clean shop and have done well on all my cars in the past. I would prefer to have Formula one but definitely do not want this issue again. Thanks

Fire guys uses computer cutting as well. Just called. They said they do paint protection and graphics, but it's done in a separate area from the tinting.

Email sent asking for refund.

OK sounds good. I will give fire guys a call and ask some questions. How did the email sound above? Just nervous he will say no or damage my glass removing tintCarl Darling was my third choice when I was looking...I didn't see Fire Guys tell now. If installation quality is equal between the two, I would go with Fire Guys since Pinnacle is a better film than Suntek CIR.

Ridler is booked till September. I will take a look at exotic. I was planning on Carl Darling in McHenry who likes Suntek or Fire Guys in Antioch who do formula one pinnacle. Problem is I do not know anyone else's quality firsthand. If wanting to do 3M, check out Exotic Window Tinting in Northbrook...they look pretty solid. It is a little drive out, but if set on getting Crystalline, that would probably be the best option. Also, check out Ridler Window Tinting in Lake in the Hills. They use Global window film which has a Ceramic option for higher heat rejection. It will not be quite as high as Crystalline, but is a solid film and will most likely have a lower price tag. -

Should I include the pictures and an explanation as to why?
I would just let them know you are unhappy with the job and experience. That you feel it is best for both parties just to go separate ways.

I responded in the above.What city/state?
-
Woodstock, Illinois. How do I write the email stating I would rather have a refund than a redo?

Suntek carbon was what I had on there. He said he would put suntek CIR on it for me.

Hi, I recently had my 2015 Subaru Outback r&r to get a darker shade as well as better heat rejection. I knew I wanted 3m crystalline and there is only one shop in the area that installs it. They have close to 100 reviews combine on google/yelp and are rated 4.9/5. They have been in business for over 25 years as well, so they are well known as a full detail/tint shop.
I made an appointment and brought my car in. The first bad feeling I got was they pulled my car into a bay between two other cars. The car to the left was being waxed with an orbital machine. The car on the right was being detailed after a wash, and they were using compressed air to dry the vehicle. These vehicles are about 3-4 feet apart.
The tint job took a good 3 hours for my front doors as the installer said he had to do them twice due to wanting them perfect, his exact words. Well unfortunately they are far from "perfect". Just counting the bigger dust contamination, the drivers glass has 34 imperfections, the drivers quarter Glass has 21, passenger glass has 28 and passenger quarter has 18.
I went back to the shop today and the owner was very defensive at first but did say they will redo the tint this friday. He started by saying nothing in life is perfect, showed me scars from an operation saying that even doctors aren't perfect because I am in the medical profession. He then walked me over to a Tesla and showed imperfections in the tint claiming it was from another shop. He then asked if I ever applied a screen protector to a phone and had dust. Then said because it was a retint job that these will always look worse... He kept saying that he will redo it if I am unhappy, but if I am unhappy the second time, he will pay for a retint at another place of my choice and if he finds one imperfection, I have to pay for both tint jobs. I was taken aback a bit by all of this as I thought he would of been more receptive especially due to the amount of contamination.
What would you guys do? At this point I would just like him to remove the tint and refund my money, but I am sure it will be a big confrontation due to the way he reacted of me showing this to him already. After that interaction, I did take it to the shop who did my original tint and they just said that they would gladly try for me and they believe I am not being too picky, they said they just do not want to be involved and that's all they will say commenting on someone else's work. They showed me their shop and said that they clean everything daily and all he does is tint in his shop.
Thanks for any advice. The large windows are difficult to image due to reflection, but dust is trapped throughout each piece of glass similar to photos.
