I did a white frost job one time by beach front and the lady had a all glass entry way into her garage. And she wanted a 2 foot white frost band with one foot gap then another 2 foot frost band and so on. 8 total bracket cut outs with a handle. Next time I'm in the area I'll have to take a photo
You should take a pic of al jobs, before and after.
We all need to do that more, Here's your portfolio

It's okay. I can donate some money to the state. They are in debt after all.
Your post is work related , and the circumstances suck, but its not your fault the gov'mt. of Ca. can't handle the hard earned money of Californians. J.S.
-
Not directly work related but.....
Left the shop to grab everyone lunch. Waited in the median for a few minutes to let traffic clear so I could make a U turn and park my car. Got pulled over for an "illegal" U turn in a business district. $250 with traffic school. Pull into parking spot after getting ticket, wait in the chipotle for 20 minutes because of the massive line. Come back outside to find a 70$ parking ticket because my meter expired.......
That rings in as the most expensive Burrito in history.
That's work related ------ it sucks------- and it's not your fault the gov'mt. can't handle all the money they suck out of hard working people!!!!!!!!!

When... A company you have done a lot of projects for calls you to do another project for them, they give you the specs /location/super on the job , You unload everything get set up to start cutting film and another tint co. pulls up (who you happen to know) and says it's his job?????? A meeting with the GC ensues and come to find out they gave the other guy the contract , there was a mixup in the office.

Love that movie... the longer clip has the rest of that classic ------- "some men just can't be reached" not necessarily true but Boss man nails it.

Do your best to keep the story to the "for Dummies" size..
I'll start.
Dont ya hate it when your team finishes up a 70 hour install and the clients client shows up at their new building for the first time and blows a gasket because the film installed is 'NOT WHAT WAS APPROVED".
Turns out many samples of various whites were sent out and each one had the film removed by *someone * so the client ended up looking at and approving A LINER!!! Gee wonder why that didn't match!!
Just keep repeating " I don't pickem....I just stickem" when something seems odd. Eventually you will get to do a huge removal and replacement!!! :money
"They" told us we could see out !

Mate it don't come easy. First thing I did is pretty much ask the guys around me that are doing well if they wanted to pass on their extra "dirty jobs" I also go and pump a thousand cars for a guy who does a bunch of dealerships two days a week. I got a good friend who helped me get on my feet. First 6 months absolutely sucked, I got SFA work and constantly questioned my pricing strategy of keepin it high and waiting, and whether I should just charge nothing to just get some work. Keeping my prices up and waiting and just contracting was the best thing I did. I owe it all to the network mates, without the itn I would be nowhere, not that I would give up trying, but I really owe my business to the itn. In saying that, I don't muck around either..... I've lugged all my tools heat gun ladders film etc on my back catching trains hours away from where I live and walked through paddocks and farms to get to jobs. I saw my supplier with a special on 20" rolls of safety film. I bought a few hundred folders, cut up a few hundred sample pieces of the film, typed up a few nice letters with specs of AG film and really walked through the whole city introducing myself to any business or shop that would listen to me. I don't "steal" work, but if my competition gets sloppy or lazy you get your ass I'm pouncing on any work that comes around. I learn all about my product, I've been doing this for a couple years, but I can simply explain to a customer why my best and most expensive film is the best thing they can get their hands on at the moment explaining in "simple detail" how it is manufactured and what sets it apart be it te adhesive poly SRC colour stability etc anything. My best film is what i sell the most of, and for someone with so little experience in time i sell it at a rediculious price, but i believe its worth it.... I'm not afraid to walk into a dealer by myself get rejected and walk back in again and just tell them I'm keen. I haven't got a dealer yet, but I've got a few comm. builders like this. Just stay hungry, if you really want this to work and your willing to sacrifice anything u got for it, there's nothing that can stop it buddy. Don't limit yourself. I've called up massive architects and project managers who would just simply spin me around with questions I can't answer but I'm definitely not afraid to call them and show them why I would be the "best" not cheapest. Remember: succes requires no apologies, but failure permits no alibis.....
Stick with it!
Great attitude 35 , Love it. best of Luck from the states. hey, have you seen anything re: Andrew Ucles? this guy's incredible , I think he will surpass Steve Irwin.

Thats a good way about business 35! gotta act keen, i just dont know where to locate builders offices as most builders in my part of sydney operate their office from their residential house not so much big office buildings. i do get a bit of work iv had my business for 5.5 years now and got a good name for it in the area its just more about getting big jobs, thats the hard part, networking is most likely the key to that.
I just did a similar 1 way for a mechanic too i put down solargard hp22 then JPW DN20EXT on top i used these films because i had them laying around and charged peanuts for the job
Yep use johnsons so this does require sealing so i plan to get back there saturday to seal them all, what film doesn't require sealing ? be interesteing to see how long it actually lasts without being sealed, would be so much easier especially with ladder or other high access work needed
Usually the criteria for sealing is if it is an exterior application , or a SD film . Unless I'm missing something , why would you seal any interior film?

2002 Subaru Forester ----- Commercial/Res. is slow right now so reverting to my old bread and butter
-
This is a little easier to see
I would have centered the film so the holes lined up on the sides evenly, a little more to right Tom and it would have looked better.......
=======>>> Even without the curling being the issue, only an anal architect or a window tinter would notice the side variance.
