Residue from a double tint..

Yeah life would be easier... I tried cleaning and its basically when the car lights are far away its ok, but when up close and all you see is the light indirectly, the whole back window glows white. I was thinking it was just smuges or streaks from the foam cleaner.. I was going to try glass plus but I am starting to think its what metint said... I dunno as of now, I guess my best bet if having them redo it ? The guy said it would take hours to remove from back window, get off all stickyness, work around defroster lines and then reapply :/

Hmm.. well I was just going to take it back to the guy to just get it done right. Hes charging like $100 and something for removing the back tint, and reapplying it. I think he said $150 which I thought was crazy considering that it cost $150 to tint like a large car. However I'll get him to redo my left front window at the same time which had a bubble heh.. But I don't know if I am wrong in saying thats a high price... but from what I hear working around the defroster lines takes time.. but I am hoping its easy removal considering it hasn't even been on a month, less, like 2.5 weeks.

yeah people tend to charge higher for the undesirable jobs, removal sure falls into that category

Looks like I'm doing it then.. I don't mind paying the $ to do it right, its just the time it takes is what sucks. One last thing, I have those dots at the top of my glass, and the tint goes over it, but you see it not touching it properly, and a lot of like whiteish area.. which I saw on the forums, you just simply give a like push over the area and that white area disappears.. it did for a lilttle, but majority still there. Would you say its a flaw in the tint application, or are my expectations too high?

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Take a look at 3M's Nightvision or LLumar's Dual Reflective series, they both have a warm tone to them.

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.

      Once more thank you, you are the best I been looking at the specs for the products you mention and info into tinting a window. I recently did wrap my wife's car and it turn out really nice, for what I have been seeing tinting a window is similar and I am tempted to do it myself. With that said I can't find any place to buy the products you mention, I found quite a few films in Amazon but they seem sketchy. There is other web sites selling films but the ones you mention I can’t locate, anyhow is there any place where I can buy this products?
