Well I guess he does it different then everywhere he goes.

When Jim was at my shop he used the dirty glass.

He did the bug with my wagner heat gun and his good heat gun. Came out the same both times.

I then had him do a back glass on an 07 Zo6. He used the dirlt on the glass on that one.

Anchored the middle and did it in about 3 minutes.

The dude knows what hes doing and that helps alot :lol2

Yes the global takes alot of heat tintinator but you have to watch closely what he's doing. If the film is on the glass he doesnt put the heat gun right on it. During the pull and stretch he lifts the film off the glass and then puts the heat gun alittle closer.

Do you still seal the edges like a dry shrink?

He did on the bug, but not on the vette :lol2

He was using HP film

"Wet shrink" does not work well with Global; he only used "Dry Shrink"

He only puts a bit of water (mist) on the sides to keep the film down...I think a tiny bit of water in the middle too.

I don't have any problems with the 07 vettes..now the bug it takes alot longer sometimes I wonder just how good that can be for the longevity of the film with so much heat shrinking

Down under heat shrank rear windows die before invis-seamed rear windows.

Up here I'm sure plenty of other things will kill the film long before we have to worry about the heat shrinking harming it.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      All Right cool. I've been practicing with an inexpensive tint I found on amazon. Its called Rockrose. I'm just about ready to make some cards to pass around to get clientele. I've been debating if I should start with Puremax cuz its a lot cheaper or Geoshield cuz of the great quality I've heard of. I'll probably go with Geoshield so I can make it easy on myself and make sure I do great quality work for my customers. Are you already doing doing jobs for customers? If so, did you stop using the Puremax and now only use Geoshield?

      Ghosting week require a smoother, more even and spread out shrink. Look at my old "ryk shrink" using 2 heart guns with an over/under setup. That would be my suggestion.

      Heavy Ghosting - Geoshield "Geo" Line

      Hey all, I am not a pro tinter but more or less just someone who likes to experiment / DIY. Wanted to ask if there was anyone here who has used the Geoshield "Geo" line for automotive purposes? I really like the color, but I get really bad ghosting for anything that requires decent shrinking. The film is specced as architectural, but has a PS adhesive so some use it in auto applications. I sent an email to see if that is the reason why it's for flat glass .. lol This is a sputtered TiN film and has a beautiful color imho. This reminds me of Huper Optik, and not quite sure but I think Johnson had a line called "InsulatIR" that I could never get my hands on to try. The film has a slightly purplish reflection (TiN I guess), when put on green auto glass, filters out and looks super neutral. ❤️ I've had it on my auto for a while but my rear window is a mess when the sun hits it (ghosting) and was curious if this is just not suitable for auto Any info would be appreciated. Skill issue, ie: shrink with lower heat? lol Thanks.

      chameleon window tint good quality

      If you don't mind trying to source some, there is a large Japanese manufacturer that makes a bunch of dichroic - looking films. It might be your style, but it would be hard to get your hands on some. https://www.braintec.co.jp/filmlab/ I believe some of the films do have decent heat-rejection, but because of the nature of the films, looking through them can be really funky. They are well-known in Japan and would likely be of decent quality. Also, very expensive. Depending on where you are, shipping would also be $$$.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      I feel the difference in quality with geoshield. Not only is it easier to peel the liner off but shrinking feels better and I think the material feels slightly thicker(helps with not creasing) Only downside that the price noticeably different. For mainly everything Its atleast another 100 on top of for example stuff from tints Lexen. I haven’t tried solarfree either.

      At least twice, yes. Although since we don't know what vehicle it is you're planning to tint, that was a bit presumptuous of me.
