Huge windows, what film?

On a small commercial job I have 13 windows that are 242 inches tall by 69 wide and one that is 201 inches tall and 99 inches wide. Most of the 35s will blow this glass. Any suggestions other than a shiny 50 to get the most heat out without the absorption problems?

call johnsons ask for joe and tell him the size there new comm line has some super low heat absorbance I just got a 10 % sample with a super low heat absorbance like 34 %

not unless he wants to 2 piece all the windows, J only comes in a 60" roll, that I know of :spit

I agree with Dan... If not, those are huge windows. We need more info on the glass.

Sorry, those are old school 1960-1970 era glasses that are annealed and particularly clear single pane, probably 3/8 " on the larger and at least 1/4" on the smaller. That wall frame is basically a steel I beam roof support that they stopped in and put glass to the outer flat of the I beam. It is a Civic Center Concert Hall. The glass is sealed in with what appears to be a relatively modern glazing sealant, flexible and not hard. However, some windows due to age have some harder sealant, and of course it is ultimately attached to those I beams. So in the heat, the steel will expand, the glass with tint will expand and me? I think buy the insurance for 4-5 grand and let it rip.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      All Right cool. I've been practicing with an inexpensive tint I found on amazon. Its called Rockrose. I'm just about ready to make some cards to pass around to get clientele. I've been debating if I should start with Puremax cuz its a lot cheaper or Geoshield cuz of the great quality I've heard of. I'll probably go with Geoshield so I can make it easy on myself and make sure I do great quality work for my customers. Are you already doing doing jobs for customers? If so, did you stop using the Puremax and now only use Geoshield?

      Ghosting week require a smoother, more even and spread out shrink. Look at my old "ryk shrink" using 2 heart guns with an over/under setup. That would be my suggestion.

      Hey all, I am not a pro tinter but more or less just someone who likes to experiment / DIY. Wanted to ask if there was anyone here who has used the Geoshield "Geo" line for automotive purposes? I really like the color, but I get really bad ghosting for anything that requires decent shrinking. The film is specced as architectural, but has a PS adhesive so some use it in auto applications. I sent an email to see if that is the reason why it's for flat glass .. lol This is a sputtered TiN film and has a beautiful color imho. This reminds me of Huper Optik, and not quite sure but I think Johnson had a line called "InsulatIR" that I could never get my hands on to try. The film has a slightly purplish reflection (TiN I guess), when put on green auto glass, filters out and looks super neutral. ❤️ I've had it on my auto for a while but my rear window is a mess when the sun hits it (ghosting) and was curious if this is just not suitable for auto Any info would be appreciated. Skill issue, ie: shrink with lower heat? lol Thanks.

      chameleon window tint good quality

      If you don't mind trying to source some, there is a large Japanese manufacturer that makes a bunch of dichroic - looking films. It might be your style, but it would be hard to get your hands on some. https://www.braintec.co.jp/filmlab/ I believe some of the films do have decent heat-rejection, but because of the nature of the films, looking through them can be really funky. They are well-known in Japan and would likely be of decent quality. Also, very expensive. Depending on where you are, shipping would also be $$$.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      I feel the difference in quality with geoshield. Not only is it easier to peel the liner off but shrinking feels better and I think the material feels slightly thicker(helps with not creasing) Only downside that the price noticeably different. For mainly everything Its atleast another 100 on top of for example stuff from tints Lexen. I haven’t tried solarfree either.

      At least twice, yes. Although since we don't know what vehicle it is you're planning to tint, that was a bit presumptuous of me.
