Which vynl??

Recommended Posts

For those who use a vynl strip on the rear windshields over the heavy dot matrix patterns...what vynl do you use?? I use an flat black Avery product and have for about 5 years. I switched to Avery because it has the nicest black color...and it's easy to minipulate if need be. Although lately I've been having problems with some Hondas...perticularly the 07 Civic coupe, and the 08 Accord coupe. The vynl is getting hazy too just like the tint would. Even after working with it and heating it...it's still getting hazy? Is everyone having that problem...or do you use a vynl that works better? Possibly a thinner vynl that is more flexible and still has a nice color...

Thanks

I have had the same problem with 07' civic coupe's.

1) Glued the matrix (my normal protocol).... No good/hazy

2) Week later Installed Avery A9 black vinyl ... same hazy cruddy look

3) Week after that Installed Oracal 851 black vinyl ... same hazy cruddy look

4) Week after that..... cust said they would live with it... :lol6

So far I have only tinted 2 07' civic coupes and they both did same crud....

I have written it off as a car problem not a vinyl problem.... (would still love to know what in tarnation was going on tho)

good luck! :lol6

Well there are a few cars on the market that I continue to get that result with even after it lays smooth at first. The Civic's I've gotten to lay down, and never saw again...the 08 Accord I got to lay down, got hazy...got it back down, got hazy...back down...30 min later when the customer picked up...HAZY AGAIN!

I need more feed back!

Guest SIR TINTSALOT

I use 3m electo cut, I think it's 7125 series. I've had this happen on a few cars but after doing if over I had no problems. I think it was soapy residue or something.
