I got this car to do. It has all rubber gaskets, no lack borders. Anyone have experience with these? I hate these types. Tips on how to keep em clean??

Trim the rubbers all around, and flush real good. Not a whole lot you can do with those cars

I did this turd today. Actually came out really clean. I had to redo the back glass cuz I hit the carpet on the hatch and got fibers all in the window lol. I took that piece off. If you touched it it was like snow falling. here is before and after...Tint didn't really help it out lol0406091306.jpg0406091548.jpg

that doesn't look like that much of a turd. more of a pos. turds are the ones like this cavalier I did. It was a teal color, and every single body panel was dented, even the roof like the whole car got kicked. Windshield looked like it got hit with a rock, and they only paid $200 for it. The tint was worth more than the car :dunno

lol yeah thats pretty bad. This car is actually in good running shape. It only has 55,000 miles on it. It is a friend of mine sister's car so I didn't even get to charge a good amount. I just dread any car with those dirty old nasty seals

That brings back memories, I did a 1990 2 door back in '94 first car for money as the ones before were practice. Back then I was doing 2 piece back windows and I went and sliced my hand open while doing the seam( don't know how it happened but it did) I still have the scar on my left hand...ahh the memories :beer:dunno

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.

      Once more thank you, you are the best I been looking at the specs for the products you mention and info into tinting a window. I recently did wrap my wife's car and it turn out really nice, for what I have been seeing tinting a window is similar and I am tempted to do it myself. With that said I can't find any place to buy the products you mention, I found quite a few films in Amazon but they seem sketchy. There is other web sites selling films but the ones you mention I can’t locate, anyhow is there any place where I can buy this products?

      Forgot to mention; if your house is under HOA, you may have to check in with them. Some, eh hem, many seemingly shy away from having a reflective look to the glass. A dual reflective with a visible light transmission of 35% (ex: NV35) would likely be more palatable to HOA, but not so happy for the owner. Your position to take with them is: The higher the reflectivity of a film product, the better when dealing with desert heat. There exists a necessary (physics) compromise in every window film transaction. Can't please all parties. Glad I could help educate.
