Translucent vinyl on a boat windshield

I've seen the translucent gray vinyl in my catalog, like I have seen put on some headlights in some pics, and wondered if it would work on a open-bow boat windshield. Has anyone tried this and what is the durability of the stuff in a similar application? I'm looking at an Oracal catalog BTW.

Nobody ever sits low enough in the seat to look through the w/shield of a boat.

Everyone always sits on the top of the seat back and looks over it...

If it were me, I would use tint instead of vinyl though.... :spit

:hmmm tint looks better, lasts longer, and you can still see through it. Plus, even though its hard to tell, a lot of the smaller boats with the single piece windows that curve around on the corner actually need a LOT of shrink to get the film to lay down. Stretching the vinyl that much, if its possible, would only lead to a lot of shrinkage after it bakes out in the sun 24/7

I agree as I had an open -bow boat and would mostly look over the windshield most of the time.but also I had a bimi top that attached to the top of the windshield with snaps, and on a few occasions I did have to require the use of it wile driving. So I would have not have been able to see if I had a translucent film applied. And I would also think legally you would have an issue as well, with a translucent film. :spit
