looking to bring in a high end film, ceramic or carbon...

Recommended Posts

who sells the carbon film, good points, bad points etc.

same with ceramic...I am using Global qdp and will be using the cut software so I need something that dries quickly and has a 40% and low static for my cutter....any info or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Carbon is a great name for a film and great marketing but there is no carbon technology that makes it better than say QDP, they are both in the same color stable non metal category.

"Ceramic" films are basically IR absorbing films that typically have heat rejection in the range of a metallic film with the benefit of being signal friendly. They also perform well on IR light box displays since they are designed to filter infrared heat. This is how you can get a light VLT film to block a high amount of heat. Visible light and infrared heat are the two main sources of heat from the solar radiation spectrum, therefore if you aren't blocking visible light you must block infrared to reduce heat gain.

Just wanted to help clarify.

thank you Larry, thatinfo is very helpful to us. You sir are a guru of the tint arts :lol2 Being serious btw...although it does sound smart assy...lol In other shops in our area everyone has a metallic film, althought some of the public are afraid to use them because of signal issues and what not, so we were wanting to offer a different film type.

I have CTX and CXP and both are really good films. Neither have static, goes through the plotter well. Both shrink very easy, CTX has a little curl to it though.

from Lumar or Suntek? Sorry only ever been a lumar atc user or global qdp...we generally just use what works well for our area...haven't really branched into other film mannys
