On the sides it blends the otherwise solid line to the eye. On the top it's supposed to afford shade to rear seat passengers. I don't think it does either well.

Ridiculous....we really need to campaign the glass mfg's to eliminate dot matrix altogether and just replace it with a solid black edge.

Its main function is to hide the main headliner and interior trim right?

early 80s we automated the industry and the machines would read the dots to pic up the glass properly, and were installing the glass,

and I remember when my customers were asking me about the 3 little dots in each corner of the glass and that also was a pain to explain,

and then the first generation retro mustang cam out and ford had a flaw,

u were able to look at the back end of the car, duck down, and see where the head liner stoped and seeing a 2" gapping hole,

fords quick fix, dot matrix to the rescue, 4" of it
