Paint coming off when wrapping van

So I have a 2001 15 pass van that im wrapping. What do you guys do when the paint looks like its in good condition but when you start wrapping it and pull the vinyl back some it pull chunks of paint off with the vinyl?

I told the customer that there was nothing I could do. If they wanted to later on that they could remove the sections that have the paint coming off and repaint those areas and then they could pay me to redo those areas, so far its the hood,dr fender and back pass door

If you were going to be wrapping the vehicle anyway there is no reason to repaint the spot just simply wet send them until they're smooth and rap over the paint and primer.

thats the think there is no way to know where the paint is gonna come off. the paint looks like its in good shape until you put vinyl on it and the pull the vinyl back up. I would have to sand the paint off the entire van

Hit it with a pressure washer that will let you know where the pain is going to come off then wet sand out the spots that come off until they are smooth.

are you removing the wrap with a blow torch or heat gun? even a steamer will work. how old is the wrap?

Sounds like the van has been repainted...all you can do is finish wrapping it. What a bummer!
