Have a customer who wants his tractor tinted to block the heat, I don't have a ton of experience with air blue or crystalline...any suggestions on film to use that is good to work with on these?

Also, do you guys remove the the front window that is like an H? if not how do you make a good pattern?

I would use something with metal or alloys in it.

The problem with the two products you are suggesting is that they both have a high absorption rate. This is normally not a problem for cars because a moving car helps dissipate the heat absorbed on the glass. Problem with a tractor is that it doesn't move very quickly, operator's cab is usually very small and the glass is very close.

Metal or alloy constructed products, although they can be slightly more reflective, would 'bounce' or reflect the heat better and have a lower absorption rate.

In some cases, IR films like Crystalline and Air Blue can actually make a standing car warmer.

Food for thought. Good luck.

If I were doing the install I would use VK70 from the nice people at VKool.

Performance wise it is hard to beat and since it is a metal and alloy construction (in my opinion) it would reflect heat better than an absorbing, non metal IR product.

When I have done similar commercial projects I used to just leave a generous border to avoid getting dirt in the tint.

I suggest you manage your client's expectations on the borders, unless they are willing to take the glass out and give it to you to tint in your shop.

I've had clients do this too... Tractor glass is apparently a little easier to remove than automotive glass.

Good luck!
