HOW TO TINT UPPER HALF OF WINDOW

Hi there

        How do i do this. Theres already frost tint on lower half and now want tint on upper half to block out sun. Do i meet both halves in the middle then trim top and side?Thankyou.

If the frost is factory edge on top a butt seam would be best , you can do an overlap but there will be a seam line that the client might not like. Depending on the adhesive the overlap would be more noticeable. Give the client the choice and go for it.

Factory edge on the bottom. I would get as close as I could without touching the bottom film( if it's straight). Or just use an exterior film and gain heat rejection on all of the glass.

Exterior would work in certain situations , but there is an apartment bldg. in the background pic that means there are kids around. Exterior application would invite vandalism .

So trim top and side the use a ruler or something to cut along frost tint edge in the middle?

If you use the straight edge of film against or next to existing film , there will be a "stretch" during drying process thus creating a hariline gap(a possiblity). My suggestion would be to use a slight overlap to avoid this. Always be clear with customer beforehand. Good Luck!
