That is one thing I have never understood and have seen it many times.  Why use a plotter and then trim the top?  Isn't that the point of using a plotter...not to handcut?  If you are going to do that then why waste the time loading up the film and the pattern?  Seems like it would waste more time than anything.

 

I do that. I like leaving the film a little long at the top because it's less time shifting the film around dragging dirt around under the film trying to line up the top edge so it's close. Instead stick it down and cut the top giving a factory look. I don't know :lol just a weird habit I suppose.
