frame to square footage ratio?

Recommended Posts

Anybody use a rough frame length needed to square footage total ratio on SnS job when they really, really don't want to measure every stupid little piece of glass? Rules of thumb just good enough for estimating purposes? I don't care to spend a week calculating a job.

Can you get the sq ft from blueprints? Usually large building with many windows would have the original blueprints somewhere safe. Ask the engineer. :rollin

actually the engineers went to the trouble of measureing each and every window, and tests by others seem to prove the accuracy of the measurements. The file is autocad, but I will find out monday if it was converted to Acrobat. The file is a problem to send by email due to its size. If I can copy and paste it won't be so bad.
