for me personally, It really doesn't matter to me where its made, I just need to be able to answer my customers when they ask. If I'm gonna switch all of my stock over to a company I would just like to know how long they been selling this film and where its made. thats pretty much it. everything else I will know by using it. Like I said I've tried their carbon FX and like it, I just know how many questions Ive gotten about where my film is made over the last 18 years. I can't see myself telling them "oh who knows, who cares"...lol.

Hello @PlaceToTint, I hope that you are having a fantastic day.

I have not commented as of yet per your original request when you made the original post to hear from only actual users of the SolarFX films. As several have already stated, we do have non-disclosure agreements with our builders that forbid us to disclose who or where our products are manufactured. The best I can tell you is that we are using the best quality components that are available in every aspect of our films production. All of our FX modeled products, like CarbonFX, are of the highest quality and built to last a very long time. We are a 44 year old company and don't have any intentions of going away anytime soon. We have worked very hard at forging a name for SolarFX in the window film industry and feel that we have done a good job so far. We may not be the "oldest" film brand in the world but we certainly offer some of the best customer service in the industry. Which film company were you using before that went out of business recently? I don't know of any companies recently that are no longer in the film industry.

As @Ryker and @DynamicAppearance have stated, what's important is that you have a high quality product with a company that backs the product should there be an issue with any of the films. I wonder if any of your customers that want to know "where" the film is made ask the same question about the nails that are being used to construct their house, or where the fuel filter or oil filter that is used in their car are manufactured? Probably not, they generally don't even know what brand of filter is even being used in their car.

PlaceToTint, we would be honored to be your film brand of choice should you so choose to continue with our window films. If you choose to go with Suntek's films, I can assure you that they have high quality films also and are also a quality brand. If you have any questions that I may be able to answer feel free to give me a call. I am in the office M-F 8am-5pm Central time.

  2. Sorry to steal a phrase from "Forrest Gump" but it is very appropriate. Buying window film from eBay is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. A lot of times, the films that are being sold on the internet are factory seconds, blems, or run offs from a manufacturer. Even if they say they are selling one of the premier film companies in the industry it doesn't mean what is in the box is what they claim to be selling. You may or may not get the same film in the box even though you buy it from the same internet seller.

oh man....I love the new tint slime....I mixed 2oz to every gallon.  We remove a lot of sweep/door panel.....so we need that extra slip to do a smooth drop.  It work perfect.

I'm glad you liked it Midtown. Just give them a call at Pride if you need anymore. Thank you for your business, we greatly appreciate it!

Is this stuff available in Canada ?

I don't believe it is available through any distributors as of yet in Canada. I know the makers of Tint Slime are investigating an Amazon alternative to get products to Canada with a significant savings in shipping. But, I don't believe that service is active as of yet.

How many oz you recommend in Houston humid hot weather....I like a lot of slip because we remove sweep or door panel for most of our install.... Also....we are pulling in vehicle into our tint bay that been sitting in the sun. I will be coming by Monday to get a gallon to try out.  I still have a gallon of the green slim that been sitting since last year.

The recommendation is the same for the Ultra as it is for the Original Green. It is recommended that you use 1oz per gallon, then adjust the amount if you need any additional slip for your current situation.

  7.

The sample bottles are printed different.  They say 2fl.oz. per gal..  Don't have time for a pic at the moment.

I'm gonna go with the same exact measurements that I use on the green; and go from there. :thumb

Yes, I just checked the sample bottles. The sample bottles do say 2oz per gallon, not sure why. I'd go with the 1oz first and see what you get.

  8. I gotta get somewhat technical for a moment,,, then back to work. :cleanwindows   I haven't mixed any yet,, but,,,,,,,,

The mix ratio on the new Ultra is 2oz./gal  and the green is 1oz/gal :hmmm    Double the amount for double the slip??

So now I'm using twice as much??  Is that the way y'all see it?

So what does the new construction of the Ultra do differently than double the amount of green would do?  Other than be really sudsy :dunno

Hey Bham, according to the bottle it should be 1oz per gallon for the Ultra and get 4X the slip. When it gets to be hotter weather, most people use up to 4-5oz of green Slime in order to get the slip they want.

The Ultra Orange has anti-evaporaters in the solution allowing for a longer/more slip then the green alternative. From the users feedback we have received in hotter areas, the Orange way better in hotter weather, especially for our more aggressive adhesive.
