Help With Windows and Pool Requlations in Tampa

My girlfriends house needs tempered glass per Hillsborough County regulation, according to the inspector. It is because her pool is less than 60" from the back of the house. She just had her pool installed, and the inspector was there for the final.

Now, does anyone know if by chance we can do a safety film instead of having new windows put in? The house is roughly 6 months old, pool just went in.

Getting ahold of the building department here to ask the question has been a headache. It's like they don't care at all to help. She is extremely pissed at the pool company for failing to mention it also.

Thank you in advance.

I have installedmil film to bring regular glass up to tempered glass code. Double check with the inspector of your area. If he needs more info, contact a film company and they should be able to supply any documentation that is needed.
