I have a four door 06 in my driveway; the wife's new ride. Trust me, the side gaskets on this one are felt. :twocents

I did 06 civic 4dr this afternoon....the doors are felted and the rear deck comes out nice...I pull the head rests off then the sail panels(there is a air bag in the sail panel area). with them out of the way I lower the rear seats and there are 7 white pop in clips (you know the ones) disconect the rear bulb from the brake lense and it comes out ..remove the belts threw the slits and toss it to the side....I removed the sides of the rear seat a 10 mm bolt threw the bottom just push down the seat bottom to get to them...too about 10 min to disassemble and I didnt have to F with the turd break light....this is the one with the little front door stationary glass right...in the A post area....car was easy....

it was a fun car to do after my nine day vacation....

if you remove the sail panel to get the deck out easier....their is one top clip that is a mother just pull the whole part out..it is the white one..the red ones are easy....I pulled the panel out and left the white on in and removed it after as one peice you have to F with the clip to get it apart but it does ....sounds hard but is not....I got a tip on getting it apart if you want message me

you guys charge more cause of the little front glass???????????

:finger: Ive noticed with some of the new series hondas (inOz shouldnt be different to US)they are starting to come back out with felt (heared that honda had probs even with glass scratchin??)hope felt returns, reduce the confusen between the models.

p.s. didnt this thread start out with speakers or decks or something ?????????? :lol2

on a side note the new redesigned (front and rear bodywork) 06 accord now has the 3rd brakelight built into the trunk lid, no more brakelight to remove from the rear deck :finger: just wide open window now.

      Cracked glass

      The crack indicates thermal stress, however, the edge of the glass may have an imperfection (bur or clam shell chip). The crack does run 90 degrees out from the edge and curves as it follows any weaknesses in the pane itself. I have attached a pictured of what tempered glass looks like when it breaks and alongside it what a plate (or float) and heat-strengthened glass looks like when it breaks. The outer panel my be tempered should indicate so by a stamp etched on the glass surface in one corner. It should indicate tempered. Plate glass has no indicators, however, heat-strengthened glass will crack in the same manner as plate glass. I'm an unsure whether heat-strengthened glass requires a stamp. Tempered glass is 4 times stronger than plate and heat-strengthened is 2 times stronger than plate. 1 in 24 is indicative of edge imperfection. I could not find the solar absorption rate of DN 50, but if it is similar to competitive films, there should be no issue with that installation setting (including a straight line shadow). This, too, points back to edge imperfection as the cause. And finally, I spy drapes in a close position, correct? If so, it would be helpful to crack open during sun exposure; this to assist in allowing trapped heat between the glass and drapes to dissipate.

      Cracked glass

      Hello. I recently installed Johnson Daylight Natural DN 50 on a couple of windows. Solar energy rejection is 39%. The windows are double pane and the glass is supposed to be tempered 4mm + tempered 6mm. The roof overhang shades the top 1/3 - 1/2 of the windows. However, a few days after installation I noticed that one of the glass has cracked, presumably due to thermal stress. Should I remove the film from the rest of the windows? I installed the film on 24 of these windows (6 tiny houses) so now 1 out of 24 is broken. Or is it more likely that I just got unlucky and the glass had a defect? Is shading from the roof overhang such a big factor? The glass cracked. Is it really tempered? I thought tempered glass would shatter, but not crack. Thanks!

      Take a look at 3M's Nightvision or LLumar's Dual Reflective series, they both have a warm tone to them.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      South facing window tint

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.
