Madico exterior....

Recommended Posts

I need to seal this job with dow 795 and was wondering if anyone who has done this can tell me of potential problems. I avoid exterior films but this had no alternative. So I applied Friday the 15th and, subject to weather, will be sealing this week. Thanks.

Made sure you leave a wide gap to make sure the film edge is fully sealed. Did a warranty job where the guy cut the film against the frame edge and it failed.

Sealing the edges is easy.

awesome. :beer

but WTF is double release liners?? :lol2

2 liners. One over the adhesive and the other on the outer surface to act as an SR coat while you do the install. Pull the liner off when you are finished and never touch the film again or it will scratch, even with a paper towel.

Another good exterior tip, try to do your sealing when it is shady. :lol2

What's the point in that? :beer

I mean why use a film that scratches so easily? :welcome

because most abrasion resistant coating break down in the direct sun :lol
