Just wondering how easy it is to tint? :nono I know it has rear struts and vertical defrost. I've seen them in 3 pieces spliced on the corners, are these as easy as the new vette rear windows to shrink? Im not worried about the install or cutting the circles for struts just the shrink, is it a easy 1 piece shrink? Thanks for any input :gasp

those are really easy, but pull the struts off, and the latch off as well, 1 piece is really easy IMO with all that removed :gasp

Are you talking about the one with the vertical defrosters? I hate those damn thangs. I don't like messing with them old ass shocks, don't want to have to buy something if the break trying to take them apart.

easy one piece. looks harder then it is. I do them dry. just lay the fim on, set it through the middle and the side dont lay to bad. just be carful removing the shocks. they be troublesome with age. Dont let the curve scare you, it runs in a good direction. good luck

      Tinter ruined my windshield ?

      I'm confused by your entire post. Forgive me, but the "black band" looks to still be there and cannot be removed actually. Also, the rear defroster cannot be removed and reinstalled. They may have meant that it may be damaged if film is removed to be retinted. But no one intentionally removes and replaces the defroster lines. Pure nonsense.

      Tinter ruined my windshield ?

      Just got tint put on my windows a few of days ago and noticed that the black band around the rear windshield is completely gone. The tint shop put in a disclaimer that for a “2014 BMW 528i they would have to remove and reinstall the rear defroster and are not responsible for any damages during that process” Has any one else ever had this problem before? I’m confused how this happened. Thanks

      At What VLT% does visibility start being impacted

      Yes, I'm aware that any level of tint reduces driver's visibility (part of the reason regulators impose maximum tint % is due to safety concerns), but my question is more regards any noticeable difference between VLT% & therefore subsequent increase in accident risk as a consequence when it comes to comparisons of the aforementioned tint %s. Given the government where I live don't allow anything darker than 35% in the front side, but allow 20% in the rear side and rear window, my presumption is that there's a noticeable difference between 35% and 20% in low visibility conditions (which makes me wonder why the rear window is allowed to be 20% and not 35%). But where does visibility impact start occurring? Is there a particular variance between VLT that the driver notices a perceivable difference (obviously this would differ between ever driver due to inherent individual characteristics, hence I'm wondering whether a study has ever been conducted on this)? For example: Would 35% be noticeably worse than 45% for driver's visibility in front side windows? Would 20% be noticeably worse than 33% for Rear side windows?

      The answer is YES.... Any tint will impact your vision. How much you can tolerate is really subjective and situational. Are and vision impact, where you are driving impacts, the type of car and window angles impact......

I'm wondering @ what VLT% does the driver's visibility in adverse conditions like night time driving, storms, cloudy weather, fog, floods, etc., start being impacted?
