Does the film have an adhesive? What happens when you go through the car wash? Does it tend to peel after awhile? I started a simular thread a few weeks back and were probably going to offer this service.

Yes it does. It's vinyl.

I don't see vinyl lettering peeling off after a car wash. Will it someday? Yes.

We (XPEL) sell a LOT of the charcoal (smoke) headlmap film in bulk to folks who do taillights. I don't think you'll ever see any pattern company making designs for them as the liability is incredible (as Dan pointed out). I always give the word of caution (race/show/off-road use only), but no film maker can control where the film goes once it leaves the store.

XPEL sells the material (smoke/amber/blue) in 27" x 110" sizes and it is ~.030 thick and very durable. Most install it wet with alc/water solution (DO NOT USE SOAP ON XPEL HEADLAMP FILM ADHESIVE) and a heatgun and a hardcard.

Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else.

Cheers,

Costas

And you're better off with just a light "mist" of the solution to help the air get out of there than drenching the substrate and film like you do while tinting.

Lets see here: we have had threads about tinting headlights, taillights and of course limo on the front sides and 20% on the windshields.

Isn't there some way we can just make the whole car invisible and the driver could just wear some virtual reality goggles to kinda sorta see?
