Will coolkote heat shrink ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all just a quick question ive got to tint some plastic windows on a boat and will be using some Coolkote but the windows are slightly curved but will the coolkote heat shrink or will it go round a curve without needing any heat ?Any info would be great.

Thanks.

Never heard of CoolKote :lol2

I looked it up, they have a very basic website, like coolkote.com

it says its the only film designed for application on polycarbonate windows. its a european company.

that being said, I don't know if it shrinks :lol2

Just a quick update did the boat with coolkote went on fine didnt need to heat shrink it which was good. The boat wasnt in a very good state but looked good with what we had to work with we love a challenge !!

Cheers.

boats are tough to do, because the way most of them are kept you can only do so much

I know this is too late to help simons but for the info; I use Coolkote all the time for polycarbonate conservatory roofs. It is an opaque grey/silver vinyl which is not suitable for windows you wish to see through.

As it is a vinyl rather than polyester and as such would not think it would shrink but stretch under heat.
