tinted patio doors

Recommended Posts

customer has 2 sets of patio doors they want tinted. one set faces east the other set faces west. they are single pane glass but already have a tint to them. looks to be around 50% or so. what would be the darkest you would go film wise? im worried about with winter being right around the corner and the one set being on the east side the potential for the glass breaking from pulling in too much heat early in the morning. i normally use johnsons SV30.

Patio doors are probably tempered glass and if so you would be pretty safe installing a pretty dark film. Not familiar with Johnson SV30, but I would be comfortable with darker films than a 30% if the glass is tempered.
