I've been wondering this myself. Perhaps busy, I know a lot of big projects are going on right now

yeah i heard he just got into a huge job

so you know him... i emailed him a few days ago and still no reply.

I dont know...that guy was a real Jackass though. :spit

We all have our moments but a board like this is only as strong as the members. VClimber has more inside knowledge of this industry and more film acumen than the majority of us. (myself included, of course!)

Broad generalities and marketing hype were always under the microscope when he was around.

No BS.

Plus. .he was never dull or spent time trying to "feather his own nest."

OK I give.

Forgive me for writing this but the most interesting poster on this board is the mysterious yet window film savant; VClimber.

This guy is MIA and since he's anonymous (unlike me!) there is no way to track him down.

Perhaps he's in a ditch somewhere stuck on the side of a road?

Maybe he was kidnapped by aliens?

I miss the knowledge and the fury.

Look. I think I know stuff but this guy somehow knows what I know and ten times more.

I'm ready to put his face on Milk Cartons (If I had his face!)

It's like having the Jason Bourne movies without Matt Damon!

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..

      Headlight Taillight Vinyl question... (Looking for CHROME)

      I'm looking for a chrome/mirror wrap for headlights/taillights. No NEOchrome, just a mirror or chrome appearance. Looking to spice up a project. Looking for transparent so can see lights thru film. I have looked and can't find what fits the bill. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      I can't win with getting tint decent on the windshield. I had 3M on my F150 done twice and still has major defects. Recently did Stratos twice on my F350 and I see this granular spotted, texture pattern on the tint. It's super obvious in the corner here but also right in my view when driving. It's honestly hard to point out and show someone but when your driving and stuff is moving behind the windshield, it becomes more obvious. The lighting also matters. The first time I did the windshield, I had a two foot line on the windshield. Thinking it was tint, they removed the tint and it was apparently a defect in the Ford windshield. An issue between the laminated glass layers caused this big defect. So they removed the tint, I had Ford replace the windshield on a 2024 F350 but when the tint shop removed the tint, they made a bunch of micro scratches in the front windshield, probably from scrapping the glue off. I told them but I didn't care since Ford was replacing the windshield anyways. So if basically I'm trying to figure out what this texture stuff is and if I should have them replace or remove it. Replacing it might just have different issues but also afraid they will scratch the windshield.
