carpal tunnel

Recommended Posts

i have read a few stories on here about aging and body aches. ive been doing my full time job for 20 years and have carpal tunnel in my wrists. a friend of mine told me of a dr thats an hour drive from me that uses a technique called the graston technique. he uses a series of metal bars that he rubs over the problem areas to break up some of the scar tissue that has built up on muscles. had it done a couple of years ago and it worked great for probably a year. well now im going back to have more work done cause my wrist started hurting and getting the tingling feeling in them during the night. he also recommended wearing wrist braces during the night so it helps keep wrists in a more natural position while i sleep. they seemed to really help. just thought i would post this and let you guys in on something that might help with some of your aches and pains.

heres a link to check out if you have some questions or would like to know more http://www.grastontechnique.com/

I do know some guys who have had it and had to go under the knife. No fun for sure.

this is something to try before surgery. im not a big fan of surgery. to me this is like preventative maintenance. especially in this business where down time is not good.

Could just be knots in your muscles. I go to a massage point therapist and she literally "strips" the knots out of my muscles in my hands, arms, shoulders, kneck and back areas. Works great for me! I was diagnosed years with carpal tunnel..... bah humbug! Over worked muscles knot up sometimes.

They would have cut on me years ago if I took their word for what was going on. Glad I didnt.

You'll have to ask around. They actually are "Massage Point Therapist" and have been trained to work on those knots. Hurts like all get out while getting them stripped out. Then I go home and ice the worst areas 20 mins on and 20 mins off for a few hours to combat the soreness. Then the next few days are absolutely great! No more numbness or pain in my hands and elbows.
