Just watch out for the bottom of the BG. A few I have done had some foam that got in the way. :lol2

i second that!!! that foam is always in the way for me! got glued up too high on the glass or something!

Yes I did see that foam sticking out like several had mentioned. When I cut the pattern on the outside, I just made my bottom cut EXACT along the bottom dots and when I was worried I would have that problem but it just fit in there. Then I was worried it would cause problems when I bulldozed it so I just used my titan along the bottom edge.

No problems!

I like the way newer chevy's and GM's have a 2 piece window molding. You can remove the inner molding around the rollup's without even removing the Door panel. I still remove most the door panel's as well. Just because it's so easy to take them off as well.

I have been turning out these newer chevy's in right around the 2 hour mark. Not rushing myself at all. Just a steady work pace. :thumb

That foam on the bottom of the backglass is a pita..im thinking of trying to cut it out on next malibu or pull the deck

This car is still way easier then the older malibu's of around the 2000 mark.

I remember spending a good hour and a half just doing the BG of those car's if you removed the back deck. Solid carpet deck touching the BG. Speaker's mounted through the carpet deck. That BG while easy to tint was a PITA. :beer

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.

      Once more thank you, you are the best I been looking at the specs for the products you mention and info into tinting a window. I recently did wrap my wife's car and it turn out really nice, for what I have been seeing tinting a window is similar and I am tempted to do it myself. With that said I can't find any place to buy the products you mention, I found quite a few films in Amazon but they seem sketchy. There is other web sites selling films but the ones you mention I can’t locate, anyhow is there any place where I can buy this products?

      South facing window tint

      Forgot to mention; if your house is under HOA, you may have to check in with them. Some, eh hem, many seemingly shy away from having a reflective look to the glass. A dual reflective with a visible light transmission of 35% (ex: NV35) would likely be more palatable to HOA, but not so happy for the owner. Your position to take with them is: The higher the reflectivity of a film product, the better when dealing with desert heat. There exists a necessary (physics) compromise in every window film transaction. Can't please all parties. Glad I could help educate.
