Lamin-x - headlights and tail lights

Recommended Posts

I have been getting request for smoked out head lights and tail lights and started using the Lamin-x Products. Its a good film 12mil thick with different types of colors and pretty easy to work with on compound curves.

Has anyone else worked with this film?

Here is a 2011 GMC Denali Yukon with smoke film (headlights) charcoal film (taillights)

i didnt like lamin-x because of how thick and expensive it is. weve been using the oracal 8300 dark grey transparent vinyl for a little over 3 years and have had little to no problems. i think its a 2 or 2.5mil like a regular vinyl. some guys use a heatgun to install it, I like a steamer better.

I used the oracal 8300 also but their grey wasn't dark enough for my customers, lamin-x is a bit expensive but I charge a little more.

you guys dont find lamin-x to be limiting? theres a good handful of cars that you cant put that material on-lexus IS, toyota tundra.... i definitely put them side by side as far as expected durability on tail lights, on headlights lamin-x is more like PPF
