Hi all,

I have been mainly running my business on my own the last couple years and am thinking of looking for some part time general hand help but wasnt too sure of whats the going or average hourly rate would be for a part timer.

Duties I would be looking at them doing are:

- general hand for tinting (cutting, weeding, prepping windows)

- detailing and paint protection applicaiton

- maintaining workshop tidyness

Any advice would be much appreciated.

It would all depend on if you were looking for someone experienced or not, Dave. Obviously, you have to pay minimum wage or above, so that'd be a good place to start. After that, I guess it would depend on what you and the prospective part-timer work out.

It is tricky if you have limited business growth. If getting an experience helper does not necessary brings in a lot more sale, many smaller operators ended up busier but the new profits are just sufficient to pay for the skilled helper.

That's where the business owner has to do their research and work out the figures before hiring someone, Counterpart... ;) But Dave, if you are going to get a trainee you will have to at least pay minimum wage. It's a risk you take to train someone up... I've trained more than I'd like to have done... some have been great, others I wish I'd never met. That's life! Where are you located? I know someone who is looking for work at the moment.

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..
