frank, what is the size of the individual glass pane? Is the skylight glass tempered?

Firstly, it is not easy to procure black-out tint for external application. Secondly, our friends here are right about the absorption risk although Quality Tempered Glass can withstand slightly higher temperature like our windshield.

If you really have to do that, I suggest vinyl (eg. reflective) which are designed for external use to block out the light totally if the individual glass pane is small.

Guys I finally was able to get a better look at all the glass. The skylight glass does not seem to be double pane glass, but film must be installed on the outside, it is the only way to get to it at the moment. Time is of essence here as I must have this done by friday night. It is a bit difficult for me to have noticed if all the glass are double pane on the side of the buidling as they had frost film already installed on it. I will give you guys a few dimensions so you can see what I am dealing with.

1-window = 14'-2" x 58"

30-windows = 9' x 23"

4-windows = 9'-4" x 58"

there are so many more but as you can these are the largest ones

hanita silver matte is still a 20% vlt film. I still say either a really thick exterior vynil is gonna be your best bet. And I honestly feel that the layer of blackout then a layer of vynil will give you the results you are after. Just need to warn the custy that it will most likely last 8 to 10years possibly longer if you seal the edges.

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..

      Headlight Taillight Vinyl question... (Looking for CHROME)

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      I can't win with getting tint decent on the windshield. I had 3M on my F150 done twice and still has major defects. Recently did Stratos twice on my F350 and I see this granular spotted, texture pattern on the tint. It's super obvious in the corner here but also right in my view when driving. It's honestly hard to point out and show someone but when your driving and stuff is moving behind the windshield, it becomes more obvious. The lighting also matters. The first time I did the windshield, I had a two foot line on the windshield. Thinking it was tint, they removed the tint and it was apparently a defect in the Ford windshield. An issue between the laminated glass layers caused this big defect. So they removed the tint, I had Ford replace the windshield on a 2024 F350 but when the tint shop removed the tint, they made a bunch of micro scratches in the front windshield, probably from scrapping the glue off. I told them but I didn't care since Ford was replacing the windshield anyways. So if basically I'm trying to figure out what this texture stuff is and if I should have them replace or remove it. Replacing it might just have different issues but also afraid they will scratch the windshield.

      Need some help

      Never overlook the condition of the floor. Back when I did install, I used to mist the floor between the vehicle and the peel board. This is done between misting the window and walking toward the peel board to mist the pattern liner, peel liner and spray adhesive for install. Tacks any dust for the duration of each pattern install, so repeat each time a pattern is going to be installed.
