Buyer beware. This company is an F rating with the Better Business Bureau for a reason! They do not honor warranties on their cutters. Bought a ZenCut green plotter that was leaving horrible pinch roller marks in the film that did not go away once the film was applied. They then told me to use only the outside pinch rollers only, which ended up causing the film to bind up EVERY time. Then they told me to modify the springs of the pinch rollers. But apparently none of this falls under a "Warranty issue". So now I am stuck with this 4 month old plotter, 8 more months of TinTek software that I can no longer use, 5 roland blades, and about 10 50'x40" rolls of SunTek film. I am simply writing this in hopes that I can save others from making the same mistake that I did. This company gets horrible reviews online, but unfortunately I did not research enough. PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!

The center roller should NEVER be used when cutting tint. Use the outside rollers and be sure you line the film up evenly. Using the advance button advance the film the amount needed for all the patterns to be cut making sure the rollers stay on the edge of the film or the film will wrinkle up.

They may be an F rating with the BBB just because they don't subscribe to the witch hunt ethics of BBB...

Sounds like you need to learn to use the plotter in relation to cutting tint film as well. Tint film does not cut like vinyl. I have found almost every film is going to have vastly different settings to cut including pressure & offset of the blade. The type of blade you use makes a big difference as well.

If USCutter is wrong on anything here it is the fact they don't really train all the fish they sell their products to. From what you have mentioned I don't see why any of your issues should be the fault of USCutter. I would not consider any of your problems to be warranty either.

Ummm , that's every plotter. That is why you use the outside rollers only. And that is why you adjust the spring tension if nessesary.

Unless I'm reading this completely wrong

Doesn't track, doesn't finish cuts, the generic Roland driver can only do so much.

In my experience it is not the plotters but the one plotting...

Yes the USCutter plotters are cheap and you do get what you pay for but dialed in and used properly they work fine. Would I use them for tint films? No because they do not have the settings I feel I need for proper cuts on such a finicky material.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      All Right cool. I've been practicing with an inexpensive tint I found on amazon. Its called Rockrose. I'm just about ready to make some cards to pass around to get clientele. I've been debating if I should start with Puremax cuz its a lot cheaper or Geoshield cuz of the great quality I've heard of. I'll probably go with Geoshield so I can make it easy on myself and make sure I do great quality work for my customers. Are you already doing doing jobs for customers? If so, did you stop using the Puremax and now only use Geoshield?

      Ghosting week require a smoother, more even and spread out shrink. Look at my old "ryk shrink" using 2 heart guns with an over/under setup. That would be my suggestion.

      Heavy Ghosting - Geoshield "Geo" Line

      Hey all, I am not a pro tinter but more or less just someone who likes to experiment / DIY. Wanted to ask if there was anyone here who has used the Geoshield "Geo" line for automotive purposes? I really like the color, but I get really bad ghosting for anything that requires decent shrinking. The film is specced as architectural, but has a PS adhesive so some use it in auto applications. I sent an email to see if that is the reason why it's for flat glass .. lol This is a sputtered TiN film and has a beautiful color imho. This reminds me of Huper Optik, and not quite sure but I think Johnson had a line called "InsulatIR" that I could never get my hands on to try. The film has a slightly purplish reflection (TiN I guess), when put on green auto glass, filters out and looks super neutral. ❤️ I've had it on my auto for a while but my rear window is a mess when the sun hits it (ghosting) and was curious if this is just not suitable for auto Any info would be appreciated. Skill issue, ie: shrink with lower heat? lol Thanks.

      chameleon window tint good quality

      If you don't mind trying to source some, there is a large Japanese manufacturer that makes a bunch of dichroic - looking films. It might be your style, but it would be hard to get your hands on some. https://www.braintec.co.jp/filmlab/ I believe some of the films do have decent heat-rejection, but because of the nature of the films, looking through them can be really funky. They are well-known in Japan and would likely be of decent quality. Also, very expensive. Depending on where you are, shipping would also be $$$.

      TintX Puremax and Koolmax

      I feel the difference in quality with geoshield. Not only is it easier to peel the liner off but shrinking feels better and I think the material feels slightly thicker(helps with not creasing) Only downside that the price noticeably different. For mainly everything Its atleast another 100 on top of for example stuff from tints Lexen. I haven’t tried solarfree either.

      At least twice, yes. Although since we don't know what vehicle it is you're planning to tint, that was a bit presumptuous of me.
