Why did window go all the way down?

07 3 series 4 door. After I installed the film on rear driver side door I tried to roll the window up and it rolled all the way down and wouldn't come back up. I had to use the driver switch to roll it up and it worked fine. I told the customer to give a few days to see if it fixes itself. Why did it do that?

hopefully,shoulda blew it out..unplugged,dried it???,swapped with pass side?..dnt worry,cant cost too much to replace case cust will make u replace it....

better to burn out a switch than a pcm or amp. I make it a habit to have a towel ready to catch water while im tinting

ive got into the habit of laying a micro fiber over the switched. always better safe than sorry. hope it works out for you.

This exact thing happened to me a couple years ago. I'm guessing it was water in the switch. It dried out just fine but it did cause the circuit to reset itself which disabled the auto down function. This can be easily fixed by rolling the window all the way down, then rolling it all the way up and continuing to hold the switch up for a few seconds after the window is up all the way.
